The sacking of Maguire is the most predictable outcome of the "review', not because he deserves it, but more because of the way the review has been structured.
With Pascoe and Hartigan leading the review (supposedly) I can't imagine their recommendations will include CEO and coaching support staff being removed. Of course, strutural and personnel issues in key "club" positions may well be a significant problem, but I just don't see naming them and their inadequencies as being an outcome.
So, it will probably come down to the "blame" being apportioned to Maguire or the players. And, there's one Maguire and 30-ish players. Let's face it, even we can't agree on the list of individual players being responsible for the poor form over 2021. So players won't be held to account and certainly won't be named in public.
Which brings it down to Maguire or Lee H and the Board. And, I hardly think Mr Notice-Me Lee or his Board cronies will acccpet responsibility.
Thanks to the FOX doco, there's thousands of "experts" out there now who see the club and team as a basket case. To hold a "review" and not come out with a clear outcome, will only add to the WT club reputation and brand damage even further.
I know where my thoughts lie, and they are only "thoughts", and that is Maguire should be retained and backed to the hilt in his efforts to change the culture of the club.
But, I am also a paying Member and have been for more than 15 years. If other Members feel the same as I do, they must do as I have done already, and let WT Membership know that our cash cannot be taken for granted. My ongoing membership will depend on the outcome of the "review".
There are 800,000 reasons why he might survive and the board can save face.
Again, I think he is the best option for the job at the moment.
It's not on Fox NRL now, but this morning Flannagan said he had not gone for the job as it was not open for applications?
Damn, so he's our coach next year.
