The Morris Twins
INVITE YOU
to their 34th Birthday Party

Where: Leichardt Oval
When: 22 Aug 2020
Bring: Meat Pies!

But we lift at Leichhardt.... roflmao

It’s the biggest myth in the NRL. Our record at Leichhardt is not that good the last few years.

Deadset myth, like our side, worst halves in the NRL, our attack wasn’t even CC standard, same as the defence.
No biggy the usual suspects will get dropped, while the real losers play again next week, Madge is losing my respect by the week

Lets face it he realizes that what he has is not 1st grade standard, we have the worst half's combination in the NRL, he has to also play them as there are no better options. For myself he has an opportunity at the end of the season to move on some players question is who will take them?

Brooks is a fine player. It is a tough year for him but he will be back for WTs.

Is this Brooks' official excuse for 2020? Hopefully his 2021 excuse will not be our problem.

His 2021, 2022 and 2023 form will be with us.

Whatever that may be get used to it.

We all knew this would be tough. Some of the comments are disgraceful.

Oh please. We are playing a second string side. We are missing what, Grant and Musgrove?

If you truly believe that I really do feel sorry for you.

Same in reverse champion. They are missing a plethora of first choice players and we are still down by four converted tries...

That is the reality of our situation. We are simply not good enough. That was obvious prior to the start of the year.

So we can get within Cooee of Penrith and Parra, but face a second string Easts team and get owned.

Not sure what it is you're selling but I ain't buying it.

I wouldn't call the chicken's side second string... the only one missing is Keary... please do correct me if I'm wrong... it still is a pretty good side... we are just poor tonight

Keary
Aubusson
Radley
Verrills
Crichton
Tupou
Cordner
Lam

All of those guys if fit would have played tonight.

And yet they still started $1.30 favourites. Salary cap is doing a good job huh.

About time this 3rd party garbage gets some clarification and transparency. From what I can see the cap is totally irrelevant. All the figures should be public knowledge and the new way to look at teams is cap + 3rd party’s. Then we’ll see how even and fair this comp is.

In a year's time, after we unleash our array of young talent the biggest challenge will be to fend off predatory clubs.

Think we’re a bit off that mate but I hope so. Was only last year Cleary threw his hands in the air and declared he couldn’t work out why they had lost a bunch in a row.

Panthers signing of Korisau should be a lesson for us that 1 smart signing can change everything.

No it doesn't - not unless you have the team to go with it.

Yeahhhhh real tough to get a decent score against a depleted team

We've big changes in the roster coming. The impact of Cleary's buys are hurting. Reynolds, Mbye, Packer.

Agree but 2022 is Looooooonnnng way away Paws.

I believe in the Club's capacity to turn things around. I believe. that in Hartigan, Pascoe and Maguire we have the right people in the correct positions.

Doueihi absolutely immense tonight. Shining light in a rough night. He’s always been safe and solid but this is the first time I’ve been genuinely excited about his future with us.
Had a great game at fullback but I see his long term future in the centres.

Actually, I can see a future for him at 5/8. He is a handfull running the ball and he has a good passing game.

He’s just a great player. Fullback or 5/8, doesn’t matter.

It does matter. Come on.
He’s far too slow for fullback.
5/8 is definitely worth trying.
But yep he’s a keeper for sure.

Made more metres and tackle breaks than Teddy tonight.

That's right Avo - but move him to 5/8 or centre.

Don't get the mentality.

An expected scoreline when I woke up this morning for work.

It's going to be a long couple of years waiting for the cap to be sorted. I hope the board sticks with Madge to see it all out, we can't be going backwards with continued coach changes.

I think there should be a few board changes before a coach change !

Mbye is a parasite - sucks money and does nothing.

Another game of running in, missed tackles and getting pushed backwards.

Just don't play him, if we can't off load him - we would be better off.

You can still see he has passion ...but he is just done ..the foot injury has slowed him so badly you don't want him taking hit ups because he doesn't even reach the the advantage line

I'd guess the minute Musgrove is fit ..Packer is gone but then Mikaele hasn't stepped up ...Huth looks like he only has 3-4 games in him and can't maintain the fight .....Aloiai had one decent hit up and then went missing in action

I don't blame Maguire. We are not good enough. I am satisfied the Club. is doing everything it can to improve our roster for next year.

They were well down on troops. We should have been able to compete

May be down on troops but there pack is still better than ours

Their pack smashed ours - I’d love to see the run metres- anyone know them?

1775 them
1580 us

Sorry Hobbo- meant the individual run metres of their pack and ours

They are total meters for each pack
If you want individual meters for each player it’s on the league live app ?

Went to NRL Live app and it showed run metres and minutes for the starting props as an example:

JWH 52 mins 189 metres 92 post contact
Taukeiaho 80 mins 153 metres 92 post contact

Aloiai 45 mins 94 metres 44 post contact
Packer 23 mins 15 metres 7 post contact

The above stats, for any of our props, have been similar in all the games we have been soundly beaten. We simply do not have enough impact from our pack in general against the top 8 teams. Add to this the fact that our forwards are less mobile and skillfull (more one dimensional) and we struggle to lay any platform to win those games.
On the D side we are not aggressive enough and have little line speed. We lose the ruck against most teams and our marker D is slow.
This is just the start - then we have our halves issues and backs inadequacies - saying there is plenty to work on is an understatement.

Mikaele is playing busted, the knee injury is really hampering his leg drive. The kid is only 21 too, plenty of improvement left in him.

Not that it matters but when Talau made the break in the first 10 mins and Tedesco gave away a set restart for holding down too long, isn’t that a professional foul and he should’ve been gone for 10?

Apart from the play where he tried to pass and it slipped out of his hands, I thought Lucy was really strong again.

As far as reliability goes, he's been one of our best this year. Always makes metres. Looked strong again.

We turned it around early in the 2nd half and with 15 to go we copped a try against momentum and we threw the towel in.

Had Talau been able to finish that intercept and bring it to 20-18, the game could have gone either way in my opinion.

Still...bog average defence all night by our guys. Line speed poor. Kick chase non-existent. Halves put no pressure on them with the kick. There's daylight between us and the top teams right now.

We'll be lucky to win another game this season.

Had a great game at fullback but I see his long term future in the centres. That line he ran off Benji was all class and he made it look easy. With his size, skill and smarts he has the potential to be an elite centre. Put a speedy winger outside him and that is deadly.

Great game at FB so let's put him in the centre.

Are you for real.

Had his first great game at FB so that’s now his rusted on spot for his career?

Are you for real.

Never mind all his obvious deficiencies in that position we’ve seen for the previous 14 rounds.

Try thinking a bit more laterally sometimes. He’s a serviceable fullback but the attributes he’s shown look better to suited to other positions on the field.

Madge seems to be chasing other fullbacks so maybe that tells you something.

Makes you wonder, I always thought the Morris twins were ace footballers, but surely about now their best is well behind them.

But no, Roosters getting output form them arguably as good as any season in their prime, not even having too many injury issues. Benji is 35, James Graham 34, Gavin Cooper 35 - they aren't getting any better.

Brett and Josh are the 10th and 11th eldest players in the NRL!! If you include SBW.
