Top 4 or Bust...

We have to be in the top 4 or there abouts all year or I'll be howling. Im sick and tired of hearing the "we're constantly improving" line. The board and both CEO's have had JT's back since he walked into the job. He has gotten rid of everyone he didnt want and brought in he has wanted. He's got the coaching staff he wanted. He's had enough time. Anything less than a top 4 finish is failure and he'll deserve to be punted. Am I expecting too much? My oath I am! I'm sick and tired of the dribble from JT. Produce or walk!

I believe you represent the very moderate view on this issue and you have expressed it well.

Either way we'll know at the end of this year, possibly beforehand.

We all know Taylor is not afraid to show players the door if they don't meet his KPIs. I think the JLJ comment was to give Brooks a kick up the arse…or JLJ has legitimately been ripping in at training and thought he deserved a mention.

Nothing wrong with healthy competition.

Marcus Kain mentioned a couple of weeks ago that JLJ had really hit the ground running and was one of the standouts in pre-season training so far. I would like to see him push for a FG spot.

Rankin did the same this time last year!

Some don't get it

Taylor's job is on the line

Do you think he picks favourites over better players ….. really.......

He picks the best 17 available for the teams overall needs every week , its just our best isn't anywhere near as good as other club's best 17

If Heleta deserves to get picked over Rankin it will happen

Yes… Rankin has been talked up in every Video Kain has done this Year as well...Yet the Cartwheels for him seem to be absent....

Aim for the top 4 settle for the top 8 but realistically….............................????? The Tigers would need a good run re few to no injuries to key personnel, a good share of the 50/50 decisions go our way, defence to improve significantly etc etc to figure in the semis next year. The 2017 season will be an all or nothing year for JT so let's see how the team responds knowing a bad year will more than likely result in JT not being offered an extension.

I think people are reading a little to much in Taylors reference to JLJ. I would expect Brooks to be one of the first picked and unless his form is crap he will get the gig every week. Take out his defensive issues, Brooks has good stats, and his defensive issues are mainly a little bloke haveing big boppers aimed at him all day with questionable help around him

Top 8 is challenging enough for chrissake.

What part of our recent history, or our current playing group, makes anyone think we can not only realistically make top 4, but that it is a bust of a season if we don't?!

Talk about setting us up for failure!

To make the top four you have to string plenty of wins together and have a for and against well into the positives, hard to imagine our playing group achieving the standard required. Something like 6th would be a super year and I guess anywhere below 8th is a crap year

He hasn't had a full years cap to spend yet. Hindered by backloading of past management. I think it's all about improvement until he has a full cap to fill the holes in the 2nd row and wing that we have.

It was top 8 2016, top 4 2017, they just keep adjusting the target when they miss, I would really love the club to enforce the no more excuses rule.

That's what the article says…. But don't let that get in the way of a good club kicking

If you hadn't noticed they sprout this crap every year, and when they fail to deliver they offer excuses, why should I believe this one.

If you believe something that hasnt yet occured…..year after year,....wellll....

Are you a troll or just stupid, I said the club makes all these statements every year, just in the last 2 years we have had, top8 2016, top 4 2017\. JT making promises he can't keep about our defence, yet when we fail, no one says we have failed, this guy is accountable, it is always we are improving this happened that happened, how about just do it instead of fluff stories about going to do it.

Taylor held accountable for something Mayer said…OK...

JT said he would fix our defence as it was holding us back, he has failed, nothing to do with Mayer, I will just give up with you blokes.

Some of us realise there are no guarantees in sport… That's the beauty of it

Keep the faith

Ben Reynolds used to get talked up too about how much work he put in off-season, extras and diligent application. Couldn't play though.

I didn't see defence even mentioned in the article…my bad..

Taylor said Our defence needs fixing which is true...since 2000 bar the odd good run in 05 10/11...It has always been our Achilles heal..

If he can't in 2017 he will be gone simple ...If he can and have the side playing like it did for most of the backend of 16 consistently throughout 17 it will be a good Year..

That is the unknown ..the beauty of Sport as ink said..

We won both games last year with JLJ in the side… including the best performance I've seen in a long time against the cowboys.

One could easily argue at a minimum, we don't lose much with brooks out of the side.

It wouldn't be the worst scenario in the world if we lost brooks next year and spent the coin on a decent second rower.

There is nothing wrong with aiming for the Top 4\. That should be the goal every year.

In saying that most reasonable fans will accept anything in the bottom of the 8 as a good year.
