_"Defence is number one for us because we have been really, really poor in the past. Looking at the past few seasons, we’ve conceded 110 tries last year which was last in the competition and funnily enough the year before in 2013 we conceded 120 tries which wasn’t last because Parramatta were worse but that is really, really bad. We’ve got to change that and if you want to be in the top eight in the NRL you need to get yourself up the ladder as far as the defensive performances go.
It was 2005 when Wests Tigers last won the competition and that was the last time that a team who were better in attack than defence won the competition. It has been 10 years now and we need to improve our defence. If we don’t do that we will remain at the bottom of the ladder. We can continue to work on our attack all we like, but if we don’t improve our defence we won’t get up the ladder and we need to start that right now."_
So many promises about defence, telling us it's number one. The buck stops with JT and no one else on this one.
You must have forgotten to copy and paste the part where he made the promise.
Your blind love is amazing, I have to hand it to you. You will stick solid no matter what. Not only does he tell us how bad previous tigers team were, he tells us how important defence is, how it's number 1, and how if he doesn't fix it we won't make semis. How defence is more important than attack. There you go buddy Jt's whole coachinvmantra based on defence. Tell me again how he has done defence wise during his tenure?
Oh your actually looking for the word promise lol.
Yeah i am actually, and i didn't see it anywhere. There's a difference between making a promise and setting a goal. Google it if you don't understand it.

No buddy I do understand, either you are JT or your closely related to him if you continue to deny that JT's whole mantra is about defence. So his number 1 goal was our defence and how it needs to improve and if it doesn't we don't make semis or win comps, but he didnt "promise" to fix it lol. So why was he hired. He identified a weakness, made it his number 1 goal, but he didn't promise he would fix it. So he failed before he even started.

Ummmm… the argument is that JT never made a promise to fix our defence
Yep..correct
or didn't come out and make statements saying he would fix our defence. Your friend is saying just because he identified it andg talked about it, it doesn't mean he promised to fix it, he was just stating the obvious and never had a plan to do anything about it lol.

We have improved our defence have we? Tell him again about our defence stats this year??

Are you a troll or just stupid, I said the club makes all these statements every year, just in the last 2 years we have had, top8 2016, top 4 2017\. JT making promises he can't keep about our defence, yet when we fail, no one says we have failed, this guy is accountable, it is always we are improving this happened that happened, how about just do it instead of fluff stories about going to do it.
Taylor never promised or guarenteed anything about our defence. He made it a goal to fix it, just like any coach worth their salt would have. Yet somehow that has been misconstrued as a promise he made, like when he got the job he put his hand on a bible and said ''i solemnly swear''. It's a blatant lie that he promised anything. He set a goal which is completely different.

@Tiger4life said:You imbecile, we finished 2nd last in defence, only behind Newcastle who played their u/20s team. Our edge defence was the worst in the league. Yet your praising our improvement in defence attitude, do you read what you write. You would have to be the most uneducated person in rugby league I have ever come across.
I'm the dopey one lol. So the improvements your talking about in defence are ATTITUDE. Your kidding right. So please explain how this improvement in attitude allowed us to

I don't think you understand what a promise is.
"I guarantee out defence will get better" = promise
"We'll do terrible if we don't fix our defence." = no promise

I think most people can agree that our defence was pretty poor last year, but don't you think our scramble and line defence improved last year? Not being smart, genuinely curious.
