We all know Taylor is not afraid to show players the door if they don't meet his KPIs. I think the JLJ comment was to give Brooks a kick up the arse…or JLJ has legitimately been ripping in at training and thought he deserved a mention.

Nothing wrong with healthy competition.

Marcus Kain mentioned a couple of weeks ago that JLJ had really hit the ground running and was one of the standouts in pre-season training so far. I would like to see him push for a FG spot.

Rankin did the same this time last year!

Some don't get it

Taylor's job is on the line

Do you think he picks favourites over better players ….. really.......

He picks the best 17 available for the teams overall needs every week , its just our best isn't anywhere near as good as other club's best 17

If Heleta deserves to get picked over Rankin it will happen

Theres absolutely no way Taylor picks the best 17 available each week.

All still comes down to playing personnel

We picked up a fringe player in McIllwrick and Jamal Idris possibly an unknown quantity after a year out

Our backrow hasn't changed

If we improve it will because of the coaching personnel managing a poor squad

Simple as that

We won't improve until the playing personnel does

I think the lack of recruitment might have something to do with securing the big 4\. If you go into negotiations saying, we can only afford $x for you guys, but then go sign another decent player, then you don't have a leg to stand on.

The smart way to approach this season is for management to secure the 4 guys first with a budget in mind and try to pick up a couple of subsidised players as the season progresses. You can say that has served us well in the past with picking up TG and ET on the cheap.

If none come onto the market, then bring fwd some future payments and spend big in 2018.

Extra $s for players next year won't win us a premiership, but maybe it will in 2018.

We need to lay it all down once we're just that bit closer to being a force.

So basically if the team improves its all JT

But if they go backwards its all the players.

Poor Squad?

Not for mine. We have talent. Not Top 4 talent but enough to make the 8 after finishing 9th last year. **A lot of young players with improvement left in them**.

I agree…and they really only have to improve defensively, 50% of the game...if they do, the natural attacking aspect will look after itself, its much easier to attack when your defense is firm
No more excuses....

If fixing our defence was so easy Sheens should of been able to manage it years ago and JT wouldn't have two defensive coaches in 2017

Moses and Tedesco won't improve greatly and I can't see our forwards improving or taking huge strides forward

Opposition sides don't respect us and our 2017 recruitment won't have anyone shaking in their boots

From memory only 3 players left in the team that played when sheens was coach? Lawrence, woods and teddy.

How can you say Moses won't improve much?

He is developing so well.

Tedesco is great already so i kind of get what your saying their.

If we want Brooks to step up , Moses will need to take a back seat , you can't have 2 Roosters in the henhouse

Of course not Stryker

You been drinking again

Playing a makeshift back at 9
Playing back rowers at 9
Playing back rowers at centre
Refusing to drop poor performers for months on end
Rankin on the wing….

Need i go on?

Of course you are but I know 2 things..

1\. I'll be reminding you throughout the Year how blind you are…

2\. You will never get a job as a motivational speaker..No wonder EB's team sacked you as Coach...

The JT boys club can see no wrong in him, you can point facts out like you have above, but they will still either think you have something personal against him or it's because he got rid of Farah. They will never accept the things you have listed above as reasons why he has so many fans offside.

Our maybe this was due to 2nd tier cap issues

Ignorance is easy…apt & suitable for many

Maybe it was Ink, But that is also a 2 way st.

Buchanan, Siro, Lamar all start in top 25, also playing our most expensive player in 2nds for a bit.
If we didn't have so much deadwood in 2nds, Or deadwood period - We'd have less trouble in that area….

Easily explained…just like every Wests Tigers victory in the past 2 years EB's wins come in spite of the Coach and his dumb game plans picking players out of position, playing favourites and the opposition team being awful on the day...

Sirro e was dropped… Despite JT apparently never dropping anyone
All those deadwood are gone now.

Farah was nothing to do with form... He was always getting squeezed out this year even if he won the dally M

Im no great JT fan... But when I see blatant BS from those with a personal hatred... It's gotta be exposed for what it is

Garbage. On many weeks he just refused to use players. The attitude to training is important but so is on field performances.

The last comment is probably closest to the truth

But at least everyone gets equal court time  :roll

For all i know we could still be in the top 4 for the wrong reasons

-Worst defensive side
-Most penalties conceded
-Poor for and against
-One of the teams consistently failing to make the finals.

Heres hoping 2017 Season brings us better luck but then again i say that at the start of each year :unamused:

I'm amazed! it's pretty common knowledge that the premiers and most successful teams use the least players yearly, injuries… And also combinations and cohesion play a big part. Changing the team every week due to unforced issues won't help in this regard.
All teams go by this mantra... There's enough forced changes thru a year for coaches to deal with without adding unnecessary unforced ones
