Tuimoala Lolohea Signs with WT

It's beginning to worry me just a little that we don't have much signed for next year, talent pool is getting smaller and we are largely still looking at other club's cast offs

Yeh I don't know what to beleive anymore, so many rumours flying around at the moment, it's crazy. I suppose just wait and see what's made official.

I agree 100%. There been too many unfounded BS rumours. How many rumours in the past few months have been true? I say less then 10%.

I'd certainly take SG's info over something said by a drunk buffoon on the radio. They're probably just reading yesterday's paper which ran the article based on one lone sports reporter's creative tweeting whereas many others have said he's most likely to come to us.

Cowboys would be an incredibly bizarre choice for someone that wants to be playing weekly in the spine. He'll be playing QLD cup in a month which is no better than where he is now. Yes he can learn off Thurston but he'll be in QLD cup or playing out of position. I can't think of anyone in their backline that he'd be in front of anyway. Thurston, Morgan, Winterstein, Feldt, O'Neill, Linnett and Coote will all keep their positions save for injury, and they have Gela Moseby and Bowen as a backups already.

And of course Kearney doesn't come out and publicly say "Yep, we can't wait to get rid of him. As soon as we get the word he's out the door!". Of course he'll play diplomatic and say nothing's certain, haven't been asked yet and we'll consider it when we do… Basic PR.

This situation is quite serious and the club is very near the stage where there is only one solution. In order to get the players it really needs the club has to spend overs. The club has so much available CAP money to do this and must do it now before the talent pool evaporates. If the club doesn't take this action now it will be, by the start of nest season, seriously devoid of the players it needs to be just competitive and is once again the laughing stock of the NRL fraternity due its incompetence is signing players.

Nothing official, why the doom and gloom?

Wait for official confirmation before ho humming.

Yeah, no concern yet.

I just checked Cowboys forum, they still have him coming here.

We will just have to let this play out. If he wants to play regular 80min football, in a spine position. I believe we are the best fit. Unless Cowboys are moving someone along.

It is what it is. Worrying just means that you suffer twice. Out of our control.

There will be many, many opportunities to sign good players before round one of next year. The single worst thing the club could do now is load its cap with another bunch of crappy four-year deals for players who barely justify the spend now and certainly won't in 2022\. Even if it means the 2018 roster is a work in progress, it's a price worth paying to assemble a genuinely competitive squad.

Rome wasn't built in a day.

Take this for what it is but, on the Bulldogs forum someone claims that Latrell Mitchell is on the outer at the Roosters. They say he had a big blowup at Trent Robinson and isn't happy playing reserve grade. Fullback is where he wants to play and he apparently wants a release from his contract. Maybe the Roosters have an inevitable problem on their hands no matter how much they want to keep him.

Strong links to the Rabbits if ever the Chooks let him walk at the door. He would be my first choice, but it would be a challenge for Cleary to keep him hungry and focused, but it aint going to happen

x1000

If you don't pick up what you want now, you reassess next time. These are 2-4 year deals, rushed decisions come back to bit you.

We can't expect to replace James Tedesco immediately, or even ever really. Mitchell Moses, probably most people want to get rid of him now but for as long as we need him he stays with us.

If you have to play Rankin or Hunt or Heleta at FB, so be it. Injuries could force these types of decisions anyway.

Errr… Are you kidding me right now?

We've signed OFFICIAL

Mautilino
McQueen
MWZ
Brooks
Reynolds
Nofo
Lawrence
Chee-Kam

Not to mention

Twal
Gamble

for depth!

Then unofficial the list is enormous..... and it's still only May - go back and have a look at years gone by and many of our signings have been towards the END of the year.

i agree a serious over reaction. cash is king . would rather have cash then be on the limit of cap. we have flexibility and there will be a purge later this year.

I'm sure tigers have other targets like most clubs would if a deal falls through. No need to lose sleep if Lolohea decides not to join wt.

I agree, asking as there is room in the salary cap there will be opportunities to sign players

So Tui has now asked for a mid season release and the Warriors have organised a meeting for Monday to discuss it. [source Kiwi journalist on twitter that's been breaking all the info so far]

Kearney obviously wants to focus on the upcoming game rather than get distracted which is fair enough. Doesn't impact our team sheet in any case.

Hopefully a resolution sorted by Monday lunchtime EST

Balmain boy.. has tui signed with the tigers?

We don't know who he's signed with yet. Yesterday's mail was some guys exaggerated opinion based on the fact the cows had simply made an offer, but that doesn't stop people running with the story anyway.

I had a bad feeling that once the cowboys got in the race for tui we might loose him. Hopefully they have got it wrong and he has signed with us instead. I think he is a great player and would fit in well with the tigers…

My interest over him has taken a nose dive, just like it did with the big snore, simply because its been drawn out too long. I'm getting old, i don't have the energy.
