Uate?

Absolutely not. We can cover wing quite adequately with what we've got and whats coming through without paying overs for Uate.

Personally I think he would be a great ambassador for the NRL, and help educate / encourage indigenous players.

Contrary to many I think he will be a great pick up
He needs a change, stuck at Newcastle for so long with the lack of challenge

If he comes our way I'm sure he will not disappoint.
Has reached great hights playing SOO etc and I'm sure he can bounce back to close to best But he will need to leave that team

Whilst Uate might not be the answer, who are these wingers we have, only Nofa signed for next year.

I think it would be a good value signing.

He is not the player he once was, but he is still IMO a capable first grader, whose current stocks are low.

Reckon we could get him cheap.

He is being omitted because they have youngsters with potential in his position who they are improving for the future, he wont be around when they become competitive so they have no drama playing him in reserves.

This guy is not worth anywhere near what you would have to pay, even if the Knights were paying half.

A winger on one wing that can't read the play - we don't need the same on the other wing as well imo.

Definite NO from me.

Reminds me of Matt Utai all those years ago, we got pretty good value for 2 seasons.

Yep I was thinking the same thing. He was playing park footy for Auburn from memory.

If the Knights are willing to pay $499,999.95 of his reported $500K salary as a winger I wouldn't say No…

I would say yes if Newcastle are paying for most of his remaining contract.
We have ordindary depth in the outside backs atm.
Wingers and centre's are lacking. Peni is next to no chance to play 1st grade, Hunt is a backup across the back 3, Rankin is really a FB or Halves and was only there for his goal kicking.
Nofa is a terrible reader of defence and Addo Carr is leaving plus has a heap of learning to do.
Uate needs a change of scenery and if can provide that at a cheap price then yes for me.
Just need a centre and edge backrower for next season. Jennings brothers would do nicely or Euan Aitken (rate him very highly) Adam Elliot (Bulldogs) is very similar to Josh Jackson.

No we can't. We have buggerall coming through the grades on the wing.

And how many said no to Matty Utai? He turned out to be pretty serviceable and good value.

It's a maybe from me at the right price.

I'd say our selection of Rankin at Wing again, has killed of any thoughts that we have a few gem wingers in the lower grades, while Rankin tries hard no matter where he is, If he's a winger. I'll gladly cook Dinner for Taylor, for the rest of the year.

Contrary to what's on the tin Aku has actually been one of Newcastle's best this year. Him being dropped would be a statement about culture more than anything.
