Much better effort.

Let's hope that type of loss does not wipe us out and we can back up.

Much, much improved.

Last year we played like this against Penrith and only just lost. After that our season fell apart. Hopefully not the same again this time.

Yeh I've harped on about this too. The team who loses bravely is not as good as the team that wins by playing like dogs. If tonight was a one off I would 100% be satisfied. The problem is we are 1 and 5. Brave losses won't help and another season goes by. Very emotional night so I'll limit my posting haha

Much better effort so far.

Edges still look like they will crack at any moment, but the middle looks a lot better.

It’s ironic that we have evolved from a forward pack full of second rowers under Sheens to having a pack full of props under Madge.

Indeed it is! I said to some mates the other day we are 'prop heavy' and had to stop and contemplate that.

Amone and Seyfarth are next in line also...both are props...and Offa and Twal are props. Neither should be near the backrow.

Hopeflly Blore and Tuki balance the pack out better soon.

Tuki isn't the most mobile of backrowers.

I found it interesting how the commentary team heaped praise over Mitchell with this run put of the in goal area. He didn't really evade anyone! Talau just missed him!

Can't wait for Blore to be back. Hopefully starts at second row sooner rather than later

Valiant effort by the boys, only one I’m annoyed with is the ref/s.
They were appalling tonight and never hesitated to give restarts to the bunny’s, yet hesitated giving restarts to us tigers.
Lots of ppl asking why did Douehi seem to be the main half, you all Have to remember, benji don’t know much about Douehi as a half, so the plan to have Douehi more involved was smart.
Happy with the teams effort, in my opinion, and maybe Biased, but we Won that game.
Unpopular opinion... slow mo replays can be Misleading from certain angles.

God knows how you miss a bloke standing still.

Madge took over and we couldn't get past ninth on the ladder. Today we are second last. The is a results industry. Defence is woeful and attack is predictable. This is what Madge is employed to coach.

Our round 6 game against the Bunnies is discussed from 9:20 to 14:43. It shows that Madge knows what he's doing, just needs the right players to execute his systems.

Thanks for that Kazoo, that was really informative. Really good analysis there by Seibold.

Thanks for posting that. It re-inforced 2 things I've always believed:
1: Line-speed, and by extension, the fitness to keep it up, and;
B: The Bonco's were too dumb to understand anything Siebs told them.

There were a few bad eggs in the basket handed to Madge, and you want him to make a mouth watering omelette on day one?

I made a mouth-watering omelette this morning.

Mate disagree . Our middles were lying all over them today , and we just rolled along all day long .

All good, we don't have to agree. It was noticeable that even Joey said our problems started inside with AD rushing in defence whilst JTJ is passive and hangs back. Of course that's only the right, we have been equally poor on the left recently.

With regards JTJ, I'm not sure his head is in the game - he seems disinterested and not willing to put his body on the line. Nofo not jumping was shocking but he was watching the ball so I'd say he had no idea someone was coming.

As for the reserve grade team, I'll be surprised if there's not changes but no idea who. Personally I'd drop JTJ and have BJ and MBye in the centres and promote Simpkin to the bench as 14.

I think jimmy is frustrated because he isnt getting any ball! He lightning fast and we can’t push out to either centre/wings.

Jimmy the Jet looked more like Jimmy the Cessna when he went after the Hammer.

Would love to see Jimmy beak through a couple of tackles and come out the other side and sprint away, but sadly, I just don't think he has it in him any more.

Cessna is generous - trike for mine. May not be entirely his fault but has done nothing in 5 games for mine. He can take Nofo with him.

He gets quality ball in quality situations he will be ok ....the question is when will he get quality ball in quality situations

Could not agree more, he has had crap service all year, he needs the ball on the run on the outside of defender, I am still waiting to see it

Looking at our defensive coach of 2019 is

Andrew Webster.

I am unclear who actually is our defensive Coach is now. Does Madge just own it?

I vaguely remember David Kidwell being on our coaching staff in 2018? Apparently he was a good defender as a player.

Heck we have a lot of Ex Melbourne working as defensive coaches for the tigers... and our Defense still sucks.

Maybe we need to try another approach.

IMHO Stewart and Bellamy seem to be the only ones who have really worked defense out. Yet I think we were one of maybe 5 teams that can give Melbourne trouble. In part because our attack was unpredictable a.
