Under Performing Players

There are a few guys that can hold their heads up and a few that simply aren’t putting in as much as they should be.
Obvious choice to be dropped is BJ.However against the Roosters I thought most of our guys were off the pace. Liddle and Garner were much improved and Stef was good in his stint. The rest of our pack were poor and the run metres stats clearly show this (even considering our lack of possession).
We need better than AJ on the wing, and Noffa needs to step up a lot to reach his last years form. Brooks and AD are the best halves pairing we have and need to really work on elements of their games. Unfortunately both played poorly yesterday.
Before the season started I knew we were short a quality winger and a lock forward but I didn’t think it would be this blatantly obvious.

I wouldn't be putting yesterday's crowd outcome squarely on the club. Sure the performance was ordinary but torrential rain isn't a positive impact for anyone.

The week Sydney has had with rain, the crowd was as I expected. The conditions all week had been terrible with no change expected until mid week. Can blame the club for that.

remember the Roosters have no fan base they win comps still have no supporters, the lowest membership of all teams

I hope the NRL cuts to 12 teams and puts us out of misery. The organisation and the team is a failure. Unfortunately, they have got a loyal supporter base like us who keep forking out money.
I haven;t gone to a game now for almost 2 years. Haven’t had a membership for 4 years now

Like "us"? You haven't been to a game for 2 years or membership for longer. I am guessing you haven't bought a jersey.

All well and good to give up on the team but there's a group of supporters that I am part of, and by your subscription, pretty sure you aren't a part of my group.

And what does it mean that I'm not a part of your group? Somehow you guys are superior supporters to me?

And the reason I said 12 teams was simply because the NRL doesn't have the same talent pool anymore. Andrew Johns has been banging on about this for 2 years as well.

Unfortunately, businesses fail, organisations fail and teams fail. This team hasn't been in the premiership race for 10 years and won't be anywhere close to it for another 3-4 years at least.

You and your "group" can keep supporting them and cheering them, full respect to you. But the last game I went to was the Round 26 game against Cronulla and then after COVID last year, I have no motivation to go to games.

The club has done very well of hyping up every season and it has one of the biggest supporter basis in the NRL. I think we are in the Top 6 for membership sales every year.

My passion for this team is decreasing every year and there would be many more like me.

I don't think we will fold but if we did the nrl would just transplant us to western Australia West Tigers the emblem is too valuable for them to lose and the West part fits.

I've seen this in the workplace... It's a culture thing..

This has been going on at WTs for ever... I'm starting to think the JV should just pack it all up and call it a day... We only ever seem to be making up the numbers and are merely just here to assist the nrl with their membership/ratings
Yesterday on FTA Freddy and the female co commentator were in the stands promoting out new members initiative with the scarves.... A one third full main stand, looked embarrassing... I've stopped going to games... I'm pretty much over it

I don't disagree with anything you said there Ink. Not sure I could even be bothered turning on channel 9 next Sunday. There's nothing to get excited about with this mob.

we did play two very good teams in Canberra and Roosters, this game against Newcastle will be the real test as they are pretenders, top 6 want to be's and maybe 7th or 8th if they are lucky. If we want to succeed we need to beat teams like Newcastle, jury out on Parramatta and need to beat cowboys we really need to be at worst 2 out of our next 3 games to have a chance this year.

I actually think player talent pool is ok , it’s the coaching talent pool that’s the problem

Maybe it’s cause I’m not in Sydney anymore , but I really wouldn’t mind that at all. But it’s not going to happen with the investment in concord . I think all the doomsday predictions because we started the season poorly are laughable . I’ll bet by round 5 we are 2 and 3 , or 1 and 4 , or by some Miracle 3 and 2 . The draft is a must IMO . The only people not advocating for it are panthers and roosters supporters , because 1 can give a 16 year old 100k or a brand new Tesla , and the other has a huge islander talent pool , really by way of geography , and the migration patterns of islanders 30 years ago.

good point I agree concord is a big investment but remember that is a community space too not only purpose built for WT
if they did move and kept the tiger I would still support them.
do think we will be 2 or 3 from 5 or something like that in the coming weeks

Me too man . I’m really glad in some ways this has happened , as the BJ thing has to be put to bed now . We can’t win with him there . And a dynamite Roosters outfit has exposed where our flaws are . Now it’s up to the coaches to adjust . But it’s round 3 , there’s a very long way to go . The warriors finished 10th last year , and if you’ll remember , we were all writing their eulogy , around round 5 . And that was in a shortened season .

Let’s not forget Souths were a bottom 8 side when Madge got hold of them and made them a top 4 side, then won a Grand Final. I’m not saying he can emulate that level of success at WT, because this is a much harder job based on years of mismanagement and acceptance of mediocrity into our culture, but we should at the very least give him a chance and support his efforts. Or does the culture run too deep?

totally if we are 1 from 5 I would be considered corned but we have a very winnable last 8 or 10 games we can come home with a wet sail

If Bj is in the team this week Madge needs his head read, if we had someone else to replace Brooks I’d throw them in but I don’t think Madden would do any better. Mbye to centre Talau to replace Kepoa Chee Kam off the bench bring in Tuki and young Simpkins on the bench.

Are you basing it off just on field performance.. Or Corporate Support..Financials..Memberships...TV Ratings.. Crowd Numbers for the Cull.. ?

The reason for ALL of above being **good** is because WT have a loyal supporter base. They will lose this if the on field performances stay the same.

Not answering for @jirskyr but you did say.........."a loyal supporter base **like us** who keep *forking out money*" ......and then go on to point out that you no longer "fork out money", so by definition, you would no longer be part of that supporter group?

You answered for me precisely, thank you.

Well, technically, superior in that we financially invest in the club. That makes a different. But not morally superior.

Nobody is arguing you are not a supporter. The argument is you are no longer part of the group of supporters that spends money on the Tigers.

All well and good to give up on the team but there's a group of supporters that I am part of, and by your subscription, pretty sure you aren't a part of my group.

And what does it mean that I'm not a part of your group? Somehow you guys are superior supporters to me?

Not answering for @jirskyr but you did say.........."a loyal supporter base **like us** who keep *forking out money*" ......and then go on to point out that you no longer "fork out money", so by definition, you would no longer be part of that supporter group?

So I haven't been a member for 2 years means I am not a supporter?

I think you need to re-read your own posts.

Nobody is arguing you are not a supporter. The argument is you are no longer part of the group of supporters that spends money on the Tigers.

That's not what I came to argue.

You conveniently ignored the main part of my post.

I hope the NRL cuts to 12 teams and puts us out of misery. The organisation and the team is a failure. Unfortunately, they have got a loyal supporter base like us who keep forking out money.

It's been 10 years yet apart from on the field those areas still contunue to grow..weird..
