Anyone taking their kids to the coaching clinic tomorrow? Should be good. Spoke to the ARL Development officer and he said the top 25 squad will be there. Wasnt sure if Benji and Blair would be there as they may have All Stars commitments.

Also anyone heading to the game against Wests Illawarra on Saturday night? Good to see the Tigers heading out to country league areas.

Well done Tigers…

No Unfortunately Benji and Blair won't be there. Everyone else including Lote Ellis and Robbie will be there.

The popularity of the Wests Tigers was very evident at a ‘Come and Try Rugby League Day’ at Loseby Party, Bowral.

The home ground of the Bowral Kookaburras in the Group 6 Junior Country Rugby League was swamped with more than 300 young children who enjoyed the opportunity to meet players from the Wests Tigers NRL squad.

Junior rugby league clubs Mittagong Lions, Moss Vale Dragons, Bowral Kookaburras and Robertson Spuddies also set up marquees to encourage children to join their clubs.

Country Rugby League Development Officer Scott Borg said the afternoon was an outstanding success.

“The response we had to the clinic was amazing. Everyone was excited to see
the players who were more than willing to take part in the sessions and have photos with the kids,’’ Borg said.

“We like to thank the Wests Tigers players for coming down to the Southern Highlands to help promote junior rugby league in the area.”

Wests Tigers footballs, posters and balloons were handed out along with membership brochures before the players sat down for an autograph session.

The clinic was all part of a two day Southern Highlands Blitz being undertaken by Wests Tigers. Tomorrow (Tuesday), the players will visit several schools to speak to children about junior league and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

Wests Tigers will visit the following schools tomorrow
Wollondilly Anglican College, Hill Top PS, Colo Vale PS, St Thomas Aquinas, Bowral PS, Mittagong PS, St Michael Mittagong, Moss Vale PS, Moss Vale HS, Robertson PS.

The players will then back up to do it all again at the annual Balmain Blitz (Monday, February 6) and Campbelltown Blitz (Monday, February 13).

Gee wouldn't it be great to see the Tigers extend the Blitz to Bathurst, Penrith Panthers think they own this area but chose to ignore us in favour of other villages in the region.
Huge support for the Tigers up here but we were extremely let down by Penrith in their promotion.

Three big regions and more than 25,000 kids in three weeks is what Wests Tigers achieved with its very popular School Blitzes as part of the NRL Community Carnival.

In an enormous effort by the Wests Tigers NRL squad, the players travelled to schools in Southern Highlands and Balmain over the past fortnight before backing up today to visit 33 schools in the Campbelltown and Liverpool regions.

As per the Southern Highlands and Balmain School Blitzes, the players spoke about the ‘Rugby League Reads’ program, healthy lifestyles and promoting junior rugby league ahead of the Foundation Cup trial match against the Sydney Roosters at Campbelltown Stadium this Saturday night.

Wests Tigers five-eighth Benji Marshall and Adam Blair were greeted by loud screams from excited students at Campbelltown North, Campbelltown Public and Claymore Public Schools. Students also received Wests Tigers showbags.

Marshall enjoyed reading the story, ‘The Three Little Tigers’ based on the children’s novel The Three Little Pigs. This time, the characters named Benji, Robbie Farah and Lote Tuqiri had to fight off the big bad wolf in Manly winger David ‘Wolfman’ Williams to protect their new dressing rooms at Campbelltown Stadium.

Tigers visited my school today. We had Beau come along… the kids have never screamed so loud when they saw him! The presentation was slick and professional. Beau was funny, spoke well and was was a great ambassador for our team and our game. Good stuff!!

Loads of showbags given away, along with prizes for students throughout the half-hour presentation. Liverpool Champion was there to cover the visit. The story will run soon. Tigers won many new fans today. Well done!
