Yeah I don't think there is any way he will be cleared, and as someone noted he has nothing to lose in fighting the charge.

Woods is right. James gets targeted because he plays an old school brutal style of game but he is a good fella and no way did he mean to hit Teddy high. Teddy was about waist high to him. Not much RJ could do about it.

Tbh the grading and suspension is fine. But when your actions accidentally or not take out another player, you should be permanently subbed off in exchange at least.

It's no surprise Ryan James is the most penalised player in the comp … He's the biggest grub /cheap shot merchant in the comp !

I'm ok with 1 week mayby it deserved 2 at most. Teddy was falling and fell quickly and at a wierd angle which lead to the result but 100% accidental.

It's unlucky but charges should be based on action not result or who it was against so I'm ok with it

Maybe it's not a popular opinion but this is how I saw it as well.
 
It was accidental for sure, but another couple of weeks would've been a more acceptable penalty. 90% of the offenses on the field are accidental and they usually get more than 1 measly week.

Agree in part because for consistency in grading charges, the technical aspects of the action need to be considered as they are presented first and foremost. However I do think charges should take into account the result of an incident when the action is careless/illegal. I believe that's fair, and it would certainly be more of a deterrent for grubs that need to clean up their game.

Off course it was Teddys fault ..Off side player,eyes only for the player arm cocked and swung yep sure was accidental.. As our Captain said I feel sorry for Ryan James and so do many of the Tigers supporters!
 
Have a close look at the video and you will see water spray from Teddy head at impact when he gets HIT .. If that is not caused by swinging arm, intentional or not, someone needs to be fired in the MRC. On Woods statement..just unbelievable..how could a captain say that after what happened to one of his players.. At worst you would say.. No comment..tells you a lot about his mindset and why he will never be a leader of real men.. Let alone a State of Origin captain..

Yeah didn't sound great, probably had a mind blank and was trying to be diplomatic. Nothing wrong with telling it as you saw it though.. Might have been a better option. Unless he really did feel sorry for him :/
