Woods is a great leader and huge success story. Who are you again? Some guy on a fan forum.

No AHX a man who saw what happened and told it how he feels. I know they were not the big supposely insight full words like you use in your induced or bemused state but that is the reality.. Not fiction as you should know a picture tells a 1000 stories

I dont think he'll get off as the result of the tackle has ended Ted's season and ruined plans for a 4 nations berth….however, the tackle was one that both players contributed to and unfortunately just a terrible accident. The grading was pretty correct.

The onus is on the defender not to come in contact with the head,it makes no difference if the attacking player is falling. Any contact to the head is illegal. Okay than we can argue was there intent???. James has form and plenty of it, to me the NRL has once again got it wrong, and it's image has taken another hit. Maybe the Coast are the new kola bears of the NRL

I am taking a lot of people have never laced up a boot on this forum.
It was an intentional swinging arm Teddy turned and even tried to avoid contact. The arm swung around with some force to clock him.He was falling as is every fullback fielding a bomb under pressure. The tackling player is well aware of this. James took his shot as do a lot of players when people fall lower in front of them. Simple equation the NRL want the Titans and Hayne in the finals $$$$$$$$$$$

Bullcrap.
If you had ever laced up a boot you'd know that James went in hard to knock the ball loose not knock Ted out. It was accidental contact with the head. We aren't playing soccer here. Its an aggressive sport and sometimes you get hurt….If it was intentionally foul play I'd be howling down the decision. It wasn't.

Disappointing. Players should be accountable for their actions, this ruling is saying players are only accountable sometimes… If you are tackling with a swinging arm, then it should be your responsibility to tackle within the rules, regardless of what the player with the ball is doing. The officiating in the NRL is a circus...

I don't think James intended to break his jaw but he has come in to apply some hurt. The arm was swinging no doubt about it.
To my mind that it a high grade careless or even reckless.
We have 15 grades of offences and this is the second lowest?

This is where I disagree completely. There is never any need to go in with a swinging arm on a player who is taking a bomb. The only reason for doing it is to hurt the player. Normally that doesn't have serious consequences. This time it did.

The NRL has to do a lot more to protect fullbacks under bomb. The book should be thrown are gutless hits like this where the fullback has no ability to defend themselves.

No he went into hurt James so that the next time he took a bomb he would be thinking about something else. I have laced a boot several times, it had nothing to do with dislodging the ball. It was a gutless play and nobody should be defending him. I would have given him 5 weeks.

Agreed. There was nothing in it. If he didn't break his jaw no one would be talking about the tackle.

Its not as bad as a straight up coat hanger but its a savage swinging arm from a big man against a falling fullback. I think there is intent but either way its extremely reckless and it deserves 4-6 weeks on the sidelines.

It was a dog act. Plain and simple. Ryan James should have been smashed the very next time he got the ball. Woods needs to sort himself out, I've lost a lot of respect for him after that comment.
Hope Titans get knocked off their perch and miss finals. Then they can all go back to being the third NRL team in QLD.

He's swung the arm around Teddy's body and hit him in the head with force. No doubt its an aggressive sport but hammering a falling fullback in the head with a violent swinging arm whilst catching a high ball is at least highly reckless and in my view intentional. I don't think he intended to break his jaw but he has form on this.

100% agree. Could you imagine the outrage if it'd been Slater, Inglis or even Hayne get hit?

Imagine the outrage if hes found not guilty?

Theres no way in hell he can get off…I see this as futile and an

to Teddy and WTs,

To suggest Teddy contributed to this...its disgusting
Cop your punishment....move on.

Just sent a email to Greenberg on the subject. Will not change anything, but these guys have to know people are not stupid. You would think with all the media attention on head knocks and the long term effects of concussion any contact with the head would have a reasonable mandatory suspension, not a slap on the wrists.

It just sends bad messages out there, that if it is so called accidental, its okay to break a players jaw

"It is important we protect our players in these positions," Buettner said.

"The catchers are in a vulnerable position. The ball is up high, they are in a very vulnerable situation if contact is made.

"Given the position they are in forceful contact needs to be avoided."

exactly… There will be another 100 tackles like this between now and the grand final and no jaws will be broken.

I recall many fans on here early in the year were defending Hunts tackle on Mbye which I deemed a far worse tackle.

Its a sad outcome for Teddy, and thats it. The charge and grading is about correct, and I cant see how Ryan will get off.

As to Corey Parkers comments... DISGRACEFUL!!!
