Wests Tigers launch Member Committee..

The negativity on this forum is breathtaking. If the club does nothing it is wrong, if it does something, then it will not work.

Unbelievable.

I'm with you mate.
Same negativity that drags the team down. Coach ain't good enough etc. Must be something in the water out West.

Wow. Damned if they do and damned if they don't. I am huge supporter of this initiative. Whether it proves to be successful or not is another question. It's the sort of progressive step I've been looking for from the club. In fact it's perhaps the step I am looking for to make me finally renew my membership and those of my kids. I'd be honoured to be part of that committee, so instead of slamming it from the outset, lets give it a try. I can't see how this can be a negative and if it works it could be a major positive..

I am surprised that some people are shooting WT down for this initiative.

If you aren't interested in giving the club your feedback, then don't! Anything at all that the club does, and I mean anything, that gets them even 1% closer to understanding the needs of members is a positive thing.

If it makes even just 10s or 100s of members feel connected, then it is a good thing. Do you think they send us those member-only emails because it's fun for them? No, they create content to try and make the membership experience unique, to differentiate between casually financial supporters and those that lay their money down before a ball has been kicked.

It's not in any way a cop out, nor a way of delegating corporate / management responsibility. It is simply about engaging the market, same way that Kelloggs does cereal taste tests, Paramount Pictures does pre-screening of movies and SABMiller put booze samples in Dan Murphy's.

TT,will throw his resume into the West Tigers HQ,if they want quality results they better seek the quality personel for the job…TT has quality written all over him and he will have a crack at this Member Committee position...

ps...once TT is in pleases dont pm him for freebies,WTs have given enough of them away over the years, now is the time for reform...

You already replied to my comment this morning. Then randomly reply again 5 hrs later. Did you only just think of this?

Actually Col for the most part I think the board are travelling quite well since taking over.

I just don't think this initiative will provide earth-shaking changes to the club. I think the scope of this group (and a minuscule sample of the fan base at that,) will be limited to memberships, merchandising and general feedback, most of the supporter base will still be missing out if they only engage a couple of dozen people.

I reckon the club would be better served doing widespread information gathering exercises to gauge the sentiment of the supporter base.

Good suggestion cb, but they will not hear what you say on this forum. Get yourself on the committee and then offer suggestions. Easy really.

Nope. Just bit my tongue. But your arrogant comment just ground on me as the day wore on.

You seem to be firing off very similar comments lately.

Hammer, if a harmless post aimed at no one in particular "grounds" on you throughout the day then you're taking the internet too seriously.

You are aware the NRL already does this to an extent? I get surveyed 2-3 times per year by the
NRL as a member; they do it on behalf of all clubs and standardise the data.

Yeah, but it's not really club specific though is it? I remember doing one a couple of seasons ago (2012 or 13,) and from I recall it's fairly generic questions.

To a degree I like it , but if the board need to be told what the fans want …....

They could just as easily read this very forum , extremely good cross section of fans in my opinion

Maybe they did not want to read some of comments about themselves or their off siders - too embarrassing. As well they would only need about 2 months to get through

I've done 1 or 2 per year over the last 3-4 years.

They start by asking which club you are a member, and then they typically ask about 50-100 very specific questions about membership experience. Usually it's a ranking, about game day, food, facilities, engagement by the club, member rewards, special events, preferences etc.

So although the questions are generic, as in applying to every club, you answer specifically about your own club and they keep a record of which club you are referring to.

See one question I think the club could really get some value out of is where people would prefer to watch their team, and give the combinations of two and three grounds, and then add all games at ANZ and the possibility of all games at Liverpool. Might give the club a clear basis to petition for a new stadium.

I think the club would be surprised at how many people would watch them full time at Liverpool. I would for one as it's 20-25min drive from my place, sort of halfway between the two traditional homelands and in an area on the grow where we could really be that local side that everyone wants.

Well if any one does make the board the one thing we need is a song that unites us as a club

Something that no matter the scoreline the boys can hear the fans singing and lifts them to another level again

I don't think since the initial union of the two clubs have I seen fans so divided on almost everything

We need something and we need something fast in my opinion
