Rugby league is back for season 2022 with six pre-season matches to kick-off the new year at Kirkham Oval this Saturday.

With free admission, fans will be treated to a blockbuster day in Camden with six Wests Tigers’ Pathways teams in action.

Macarthur Wests Tigers will start the day with trial matches against Canberra in both the Andrew Johns Cup and Laurie Daley Cup.

Wests Tigers’ Tarsha Gale Cup side will take to the field at 1:00pm against the Raiders before Western Suburbs Magpies’ Harold Matthews and SG Ball teams continue the feast of football.

The final game of the day will see Wests Tigers take on the Sydney Roosters in a Jersey Flegg trial match, kicking off at 5:30pm.

Camden on Saturday is the place to be..

What exactly is Andrew Johns / Laurie Daley Cup ?

Is it just younger divisions?

Must be new because I’ve only ever known Matts, SG Ball and Flegg

Sounds about right. I thought that was HM / SG ball tho? Or is strictly a country based comp?

HM / SG Ball got changed to U/17’s + U/19’s because they missed pretty much a whole year with COVID.

I think Johns Cup and Daley Cup (U/16’s + U/18’s) is more country/Group 6 based, but I think they’re just bringing through as many kids as they can because junior development has been tough during the COVID period.

Anyone catch the Balmain trials last night?

Who's planning to head out there today? Updates would be appreciated as I'm sure the club won't give us team lists or updates

I'm usually at all the Kirkham games as I live nearby and would've loved to provide updates but am currently isolating with COVID. :-1:

If anyone there could provide some standout players (especially in the Flegg game) it would be much appreciated.

Yeah how poor is that? The club really lets itself down massively when it comes to club info, posting reports, updates etc.
Perhaps the new COE could include a wing where club PR people learn how professional sporting teams operate?

Sorry to hear that mate, hope symptoms are mild and you recover fully soon.
