Wests Tigers sign Blair, Reddy and Bell

Tigersmurf all I pass on is what I get told from a player from our FG team. He is my source. I don't have direct contact with a club "official" so to speak. He told me about Blair and reddy but even he didn't know about bell. So all I do is pass it on if it's right it's right if it's not well then there isn't much I can do about it. The outside back is supposed to be putting pen to paper this week.

this week!! wonder when they will announce it. maybe in 3 months.

out of favour with their club? hmmm. could be a few.

all i want to know gun is whether ur excited or not. that would good (discrete) info.

I was very impressed with Joel Reddy a couple of years ago when he first came into First Grade, he is a very good finisher and reads well in defence. He has struggled to fit in at Parra but with Jarrod Hayne being the go to man I really don't think Reddy has really had the opportunity to show how good he is. With Benji providing quality ball I think we will all see how good this kid can be, I think he will put a lot of pressure on Ayshford as the season goes on.

Yeah I'm excited about the prospect of this outside back signing…IMO opinion he is a gun big fast and will be a great replacement when lote moves on the other 2 remain outside chances but neither fill me with excitement

Vidot?

Blair is a great signing, Reddy is solid.. I'm curious as to where he will end up.. fullback, possibly. Matthew Bell is a solid plodder, runs straight, terrific defender.. yes, he's 30 years old.. but we'll need his experience next year.

On top of Blair, Reddy & Bell I think we'll probably get back McDonnell.. somebody has got to take the Fitzy/Beau mantle. Tom Humble maybe, Sheens is a massive fan. Vidot would be nice.. he'd also be on his preffered side of the field, outside of Ayshford.

thanks gunny. if ur excited, i am excited. it sounds good. lets hope they announce it a bit quicker this time.

we have missed Tuiaki and it would be good to see someone who can do some steamrollers. plus help run the ball out from our own line. we need Lote back too.

Plus, it is true that Vidot has been given permission to look elsewhere and he is an exciting player.

I read that Humpreys had written to Furner at Canberra saying that he wasnt after Dugan. Maybe also had a p.s. in there about a clearance for or opinion on Vidot. :stuck_out_tongue:

How about a big fast winger (though injured) scored the best gf try ever in 2005?

Finallyyyyyy Adam Blair has come to the Wests Tigersssss. Hard hitting in defence, strong runner of the ball and can offload. Add to that his grand final and international experience, doesn't take a backward step sounds like a good signing, will go well in our pack. Imagine Blair, Ellis and Heighno, sounds good. The jury is out on Reddy and Bell, will have to wait and see but glad to give them support if they aim up. We are starting to smellllllll what the club is cooking!!

I doubt Pat Richards (the man of steel) will be released by Wigan.

But I did see this:

'Southcity fullback Daniel Fitzhenry keeps his options open'

All three are good signings, especially Blair. I think he will really suit our style and provide some much needed aggression.

I havent seen alot of Matthew Bell but his stats are good and he seems to make good metres per hit up when I have seen him play, which some of our current props are lacking.

Reddy will be a handy player, just not sure where he will play. I think Sheens may have a plan to maybe play him at fullback?

Raiders have said that they will not be releasing Daniel Vidot. I would of liked him at Tigers, has good size and speed. Would of went well outside our backline

i'm hoping there will be another forward announced
hopefully a guy like Shane Shackleton
would be good to have a couple of experienced props to mentor the young guyz

3 great signings for mine. Blair is a gun, the kind of big name forward, with great defence and attack we need. Reddy - solid, great under the high ball, good in attakc and really good defender. Matt Bell - Big , strong defends well and runs hard and has experience both in FG and experience playing off the bench in that 2nd 20 time.

However the one thing that really stands out for me is that all 3 are really professional and hard workers, the kind of guys you want your young players to learn off and I think this is a big reason for the Tigers signing them with all our young blokes coming through they will see the right attitude that these blokes have. A bit of a difference between them in attitude and behaviour to those leaving Gibbs, Fifita and Moltzen
