Wests Tigers star Robbie Farah dropped from NRL to reserve grade

Very interesting considering Daley hinted there would be news from Robbie over the bye round when asked if he would be in SOO team next year. Perhaps something has fallen over?

On a side note i'm told Robbie played a SOO game 2 injured and did not let the Daley know he was hurt.

It's hearsay of course but my source was from the origin support staff.

Saturday night apparently Robbie spilt boiling hot tea into his shoe which led to very bad burns on one foot. Plenty of jokes on the plane home when the airline said they were unable to serve hot beverages due to technical reasons.

It is amazing how many first grade coaches we have on this forum.

Last I saw we haven't made the finals for 4 consecutive years whilst Farah was in the squad. What makes anyone think that by Farah not playing goes our chances of making finals. Look at our pathetic history! Who was the captain leading by example in all these failed attempts. Taylor isn't out there running from dummy half!

We have a coach, who is trying to secure his future income and career by fielding a team he thinks can best execute the style of play he wants week in and week out. Unlike any of us keyboard heroes, he sees these players every-day training and performing (or otherwise) the plans he sets in place. None of us on here know what players are following procedure and what aren't.

Despite some stinker games (which is a part of every single year of our history) we are competitive this year which is a marked improvement on previous seasons. I am backing the coach 100%.

Farah isn't owed anything other than his salary which he gets regardless of the performances he now plays.

Plane from where?

Gotta love this one from Bryce Gibbs on twitter when hearing the news:

bryce gibbs @bryceegibbs

"Now i know why David Fa'alogo put a couple on your huckleberry finn taylor, you deadset would struggle to run a bath let alone a footy team."

hahaha, well said Gibbsy

The fact this is the most winnable game of the year is not a coincidence.
I think JT is moving now to prove we don't need Robbie to win.

I would say this would have occurred regardless of who our opponents were after Origin…. Let him get the Origin series out of the way..... Imagine the furore if the club did this before Origin

I can't agree with this … I do in the long run... But not short term while we are still alive
Our season is done imo... Hope I'm wrong

Yeah Taylor just went all in. If the Tigers don't make the 8 now he'll have to go at the end of the year. I really hope we don't look back on this as the game that derailed our season.

Says the guy who has punched cabbies and spat in the face of female police officers.

Well said indeed Gibbsy. What a larakin.

Takes a thug to know a thug.

Robbie needs to move on at some stage soon, yes, we know he's past his best, but his form over the past few weeks off the bench have been pleasing and besides that… he's the best hooker we have. Gutsy call, maybe. If this has come from purely JT you question where he's heads at with us still in the race for the 8\. If this has been ok'd by the higher ups, as has been somewhat established here on the forum, then this begs the question; have the club finally said enough is enough with Farah? If so, why not earlier?

To say that this is the best 17 we have and Farah not be in it, is a joke. The statement put out is nothing but pure crap really. He makes our 17 all day. To me, it seems like a power play by JT but I, along with many others thinking the same could be wrong. Taylor could prove a genius come the weekend and future with this move, however, I cannot agree that this will benefit us in the run to the finals. Cherro better be in that 17 come the weekend otherwise we can kiss our season goodbye. And to think, the past week or so we have had a good run with the media and no real internal issue and this comes up.

I don't think making the top eight is the issue …. Most of us on here never really considered that a possibility at the start of the year. We all know Farah won't be at the club in 2017 .... I think it would be better for the club longer term if Taylor moves on as well. Not sure our young stars will stay if Taylor stays.

We should beat saints who only manage 13 points a game with or without Farah, so a win will be no vindication of the decision.
But as Supercoach said, what will Teddy, Brooks, Moses and the like think when they see a club legend treated like this, and don't think other clubs won't bring this up in negotiations, a really dumb move that will bring a world of hurt to the club.
The media are going to give parra a break and we will be open slather, Farah has done nothing wrong he is honouring his contract, the person whose contract should end is the one being quoted in the press release.
There is no way this is our strongest 17, and best chance of winning, there are probably 3 or 4 others in the team who should be dropped before Farah, that press release was spin and and nothing else, only the gullible will buy it.

851, youre absolutely entitled to your oponion and you are a Farah supporter and thats Ok. But do you honestly think this decision has been made by Taylor and Taylor alone, without any comment or input form anyone else? If you do, there is plenty of evidence to suggest otherwise. And if you dont, why are you not calling for others involved to be terminated also?

I am not a Farah supporter, I have stated numerous times both should be gone, and again tonight I also stated that if Buckets signed off on this, he should go too.
With where our team is positioned on the ladder, coupled with key players off contract next year, what kind of message is this sending to our young players and potential new signings, a really bad decision and even worse timing.

The message could quite possibly be seen as ''hey guys, here are the keys, this team is yours''. Love or hate the decision, you can't say that it isn't an endorsement of the 1, 6 and 7.

Taking the emotion out of it I think Angry Ant makes a great point. No-one knows what goes on and Taylor has been employed to do a job. This is his team.
Taylor will either come out of this a star or may fall on his sword. Interesting times ahead….

What a load of garbage. The same garbage being fed to us by Taylor and Pascoe. Farah is being dropped based on what exactly?? Last 2 games for the tigers , came of the bench , played 60 minutes and scored a try in both games. So did he play Taylors style in his last 2 NRL games for the tigers. Im not a robbie supporter or a JT supporter, im a Wests Tigers supporter. And is this the best thing for the tigers for this year?? Anyone who honestly believes that Halatua or Edwards coming of the bench is going to do a better job than Farah has no idea about football. If you dont think this has impact on the players then we are kidding ourselves aswell. Look at the positivity in the forum the last week, how excited we all were about playint the dragons and then going on a run to hopefully play finals football. Its not Farahs fault the club backended his deal, once again if any of us where owed money by an employee we would fight tooth and nail for every dollar. Everytime i think this club has turned around, bam they punch you in the face. What kind of message are we giving the rest of the playing group about the loyalty the club has to long serving players. This is crazy.

I'd say the message would be. Your a good player, we love you playing here but your not bigger than the club. Things would have worked out better for Marshall and Farah if they got this message early in their careers.

I question the timing too
Round 4 2016 would have made more sense.. Not that this stage of the year ..

This is no way of doing business and dropping bombshells as such which will create division among all
