Wests Tigers Team v Eels

He probably did , so did the fox,Brown and Koriebete etc ... but if the club couldnt see what they would become down the track that only shows the incompetence of the club.
That seems to be a repetitive theme which must be difficult to change?
If we look at this current squad, we could probably identify a few whose form has dropped off, after very promising starts?
I wonder what is it that players see, which makes them believe the only way to achieve their ambition of reaching their full potential is at another club?
Is it, injuries? Lack of a sense of belonging, or being part of something greater than the sum of its parts?
What is it that demotivates them?

or even a week or two ago for Samoa.
I don't get all this stuff about nofoaloma he scored an almost impossible try a couple of weeks ago against dogs not to mention 4 against samoa . Our team against warriors never got one pass to him in attack and zero tries against us on his side and also tigers previous game .Note Maumalo couldn't diffuse 2 bombs that led to 2 tries on his side . Our backine in general is not firing for 2 reasons first because the pack has no go forward always on back foot and secondly the half's always crabbing across field till wingers run out of room and don't have any 2 on 1 situations . Look at top teams their wingers simply get put into clear on many occasions

Yes Stevec, it’s a fundamental of the game, create space out wide so outside backs can score. Souths were very good at it when Reynolds was there.
You’re right our inside backs are crabbing and often too slow at shifting the ball, as well our FB is not running holes in the backline to draw in defenders.
One of the reasons for this could be constant personnel change? Or lack of speed? Or lack of on field leadership?
We only have the forward running tight off the outside shoulder plan and it works only 1 in 20 times.

I agree our plays don't resemble the top teams and our half's look rushed and indecisive which is partly to do with our pack . I also notice Penrith and other teams when their play doesn't come off they put a well weighted grubber into in goal and then they get to go again .our 5th tackle kicks are always bombs and their backs have ample time to take and its usually not in right spot

Glad AD is getting the chance to play the full 80 at least. I would have thought he was at least a couple of weeks away.

And congrats to Matamua! Haven't see much of him, what's his preferred position?

Wests Tigers star Adam Doueihi has dropped a selection bombshell by asking interim coach Brett Kimmorley to pick him in NSW Cup if he won’t select the gun ball-player in his preferred position of five-eighth.

Doueihi, the Wests Tigers best player last season, has been selected in the centres this week as the Tigers continue to search for the club’s first win since Kimmorley took over leading into round 14. Fox Sports has been told by Tigers insiders that Doueihi contacted Kimmorley on Tuesday to ask the question about playing five-eighth in the NSW Cup after the coach selected him in the centres.

Tigers head of football Tim Sheens then smoothed over the potential standoff as the club searches for answers to try to snap a four-match losing streak

Rest of the fox article…

Ever the professional, as of Wednesday morning Doueihi was prepared to put the team first and trained in the centres at the Tigers Concord headquarters.

The Tigers have told Doueihi they view his best position as five-eighth and intend to give him every opportunity to play there – yet he will line-up in the centres for Saturday’s match against Parramatta at Leichhardt Oval.

Doueihi has gone on record multiple times stipulating five-eighth is his preferred position meaning the Tigers have got a fresh playmaking problem about how to fit three ball-players into two positions.

Interim coach Kimmorley has named Jackson Hastings at halfback and Luke Brooks at five-eighth for the round 17 match against the Eels.

The Tigers hatched a plan to axe Brooks after the round 15 loss to Canterbury but then back-tracked and persevered with Brooks at five-eighth in round 16 against the Warriors.

Brooks also played some dummy-half when Doueihi was brought on and Hastings was shifted from the right edge to the left edge last weekend.

Doueihi played 14 games at five-eighth for the Wests Tigers last season and six games in the centres and was consistently the struggling club’s best player.

As the club’s best player – surely the Tigers should pick him in the position he wants to play.

A Balmain junior, Doueihi is also off contract at the end of 2023 meaning rival clubs are free to table offers from November 1.

All three of the Tigers playmakers – Doueihi, Hastings and Brooks – are off contract at the end of next season.

The Tigers have taken an ultra-conservative approach with Doueihi, starting him off the bench in his opening two games since returning from an ACL reconstruction.

The Tigers have been comprehensively beaten 30-4 by Manly, 36-12 by Canterbury-Bankstown and 22-2 by the Warriors since Kimmorley took over when Michael Maguire was axed.

In 240 minutes of football, they’ve scored just three tries.

Compounding the issue further is the Wests Tigers administration continuing to drop the ball from one issue to the next off-the-field.

After being forced to outlay $800,000 to sack Maguire mid-season with another year still to run on his contract, the Tigers then missed their no.1 priority coaching target in Penrith assistant Cameron Ciraldo.

The search for a new coach continues as the club powerbrokers and even now players continue to moan about leaks from inside the walls of Concord.

Playmaker Brooks fronted the media on Tuesday and took aim at the Wests Tigers administration about information being leaked from internally.

The whole episode is a bad scene as the club attempts to find the right coach to fix a club that’s long been regarded as a basket case.

Good. I think we've had enough of Brooks kicking it out on the full, barely kicking for touch and constantly kicking the ball into opposition players legs.

Steph if fit is a genuine talent im hoping he can get back to run on side
Joffa is a talent , Adding Nathan Brown would give us 3 plus Nu Brown leaves us still about 3 short .I'm open minded on Matamua and Pole and hoping they turn out great .Garners going but in meantime makes a great center pairing with AD.
Kelma seems to want early release and don't think much of Tamou and the rest of pack
Penrith depth is such that they can keep Sean O'Sullivan' as a spare part half for when clearys out .He wouldn't go astray in our halfs
