Wests Tigers Team v Newcastle Rd 13

Is Mbye our best available dummy half? Why didn't he play there in rounds 1 & 2?
Is McIntrye one of the two best 2nd rowers we have available? I thought he was a middle forward now.
Is having a total of 7 games experience between the left wing and left centre a good idea?
Why are Blore and Lawrence both on the bench? Aren't they both 2nd rowers?

I am confused.

Walters and Reynolds got given first crack at hooker but didn’t show much, both struggled there. Mbye trained there a lot in pre season and has good passing.

We don’t have much quality in the second row. He’s been playing very well and deserves the spot, and can play second well pretty good I think.

Both Lawrence and Blore have played in the middle this season, Blore played there against eels and against warriors.

Defence is a worry on that left edge but I guess Madge has faith in the new boy

Talau and Asu aren’t exactly up against the most experienced opposites. Newcastle have their injury woes aswell, worth a try considering they could be our future left side pairing

I can also only imagine at some stage Huth will come off for blore and Huth goes into the Prop rotation. McIntyre will probably get replaced by Lawrence at some stage aswell

I must admit I am nervous for Talau in the centres. His defence there has been an issue in the past and against a good looking knights backline he can’t make mistakes. Will be even tougher with a rookie next to him, hopefully he’s fixed it up though

Bet he doesn't let 4 tries in like ol' mate though.

i hope if Mmbye does have a great game at 9 a few people in here acknowledge that. Agree with some in here he has a better passing game than Reynolds and walters.

Would have preferred Garner on the bench over Rowdy but otherwise the side makes sense.

Mbye should be the 14 moving forward . He’s honestly the perfect player for . Can play anywhere from 1-7 and 9 , and is the kind of bloke who wouldn’t crack a sad if it did happen .

That might just be the case if Talau smashes it at centre. Here’s hoping as I agree he is a better utility 14 than Walters & Reynolds.

Congrats to AJ on getting his debut. Good to see Joey back as well, felt longer than 4 weeks. Will be keen to see how the backs go this week with Tommy also getting an opportunity at centre. Hopefully the forwards get stuck in this week and can lay a platform.

Agree with others on here would like to see Mmbye as the utility 14 he is perfect for it can cover halves and centre fullback and hooker.

very excited to see how our backline performs! Hopefully the forwards can lay a platform!

I like McIntyre in the second row, hell I have been wondering if Blore has the gas tank to do it too...

At full strength I would like to see Blore and McIntyre interchange on the edge, then one slip into the middle if needed. Tell em to go ham and belt piss out of their side of the field, both hit like trucks.

Lucy being his normal dynamic self on one edge, these 2 punishing on their side. Twal, Packer, Aloiai, Mikaele, Eiso and Musgrove could sort out the middle between them.

I think we owe Rowdy this weeks game as he has been excellent in the centres the last month for our defence. Plus its his 250th and you know he wont let you down.

This is precisely why we lose more games than we win every year.

Nobody owes any of our players anything, we need to win games, that's all.

Close to best we can field all things considered. Personally i would have rested AD had Mbye at fullback, walters at 9 and Josh on the bench. Also would have given Aloiai a demotion to bench just to get his intensity back.

??? Good luck with that philosophy. Way to inspire loyalty. A guy like him who never really lets you down and , yea he performs at replacement level , but who cares . The guy bleeds tigers black and orange .

Understand what you are saying but he has jumped into centre and done a excellent job plus he can cover alot of spots if needed. Madge always said reward the players performing and he deserves that.. That might change in a game or 2 but right now he deserves another go.

He seems to be okay there on the left, but a real worry defending on the right edge.
