Has Edwards ever played hooker tho?

And you could argue we're strengthening our flank taking Rankin out for Chee Kam

Apparently he's been having a crack in NSW Cup

Not being a prick, what a poor way to finish your career. It should have been different…

True. He should have packed his bags and left at the end of last year, but instead he played the poor me card.
This year he seems to be playing the poor human card. It will take another week or 2 before him and his cronies have managed to lose all sympathy for him

Yet fans scratch their heads and wonder why Taylor wants him gone.

Why do people twist the truth for their own agendas?
JT picked Rankin tonight for this weekends game? He's played most of the year.
JT picked Lovett? He's played most of the year.
Other than Farah's expected non selection again, the only other real surprise was Edwards inclusion. But as has rightly been pointed out, why change a winning team?

Am I missing something? Isn't this nearly the same team that's trotted out most weeks?

I thinks its making people angrier because Rankin was playing at 9 and Edwards's selection didnt make sense

Taylor didnt replace Farah with specialist Hooker, Dene has been there most games
But for some reason (maybe to fool us) he replaced JJ with Edwards who hasnt been effective the last 2 games in FG

Lovett's selection ? i have stopped complaining about him but im guessing whilst people are complaining and venting their frustration they are also disappointed he was getting moved in to the centres..
We can live with him in the 17 off the bench but not in the centres

Its becoming a case of the straw that broke the back, too many poor decisions from Taylor at the one time

We lost 2 forwards on the bench and people are surprised that Taylor did not want to use Edwards at hooker as he had previously planned.

Also Rankin is a natural half. Surely it was a logical to slot him into hooker to give Halatau a break in the circumstances? I thought his service was excellent. Im not sure I like my hooker defending on the wing but given the circumstances of the game I can live with it.

my 2cents worth
Not every player can pass both ways with natural ease and comfort.
Hence we have players on the right and left wings, center etc.
same kind-of applies to halves hence they pick their preferred spots.
Whilst Rankin may be better suited in the halves role like he prefers i doubt he will be as good hooker as the first line hookers who have natural ability to pass either way, take runs and make those decisions on the fly to pass or run.
To provide an example, ET has had far too many forward passes from dummy half
Peter Wallace converted from Halves to Hooking and it took him 2 seasons to get it right, he threw a fair few forward passes too.

Rankin fits into Taylors plans of just getting the ball from dummy half and getting it to the next person but you have to question the value in this.
Where is the threat from dummy half if all you are doing is throwing the ball to the next person..

Anywho, i'm not a coach in any grade, just a real frustrated supporter of the club at the moment

True, not all player can pass to both sides. Robbie obviously prefers to go to the left, which impacts on our attacking structure

It really doesn't matter if anyone agrees or disagrees with this team selection….JT is the coach and why would you change a winning side, especially after having to re shuffle for the unexpected injuries against the Dragons....

What most are whinging about is that we might not make the finals with poor team selections, who really knows ??...

Most on here didn't give us a chance of finishing better than bottom 4 this year...unbelievable that we are doing well, and yet the coach is still copping the crap.....Farah can stay in reserves,we have won games without him before,if the halves can dominate and improve on last weeks performance then we should do very well this week,as for JT,let him do his job and see out his contract, that would be the first real sign that stability has come to this decimated club for years..

I remember he apparently only had 6-8 weeks at the start of the yr according to some on here. And after 8 weeks we had lost 6 in a row, the last loss being a 60 point thrashing from the Raiders. If he wasn't sacked then, he won[t be sacked now. We've improved dramatically since then, having won 6 games, sitting only 2 points out of the 8\. I can't see them sacking him even if we finish 9th or 10th. I'm sure if we scroll back to predictions at the start of the yr, most would have predicted bottom 4 again, if not worse thanks to our horrible coach, who instead has us in contention for the 8 so deep into the yr. Wishful thinking i think. So that alone would show we've improved. The results don't show any reason why he shouldn't see out his final yr.

I didn't think he would be sacked then and I don't think he will be sacked now. I also think he will be here next year.

I would sack him now though. Way too many mistakes and poor decisions since he has been here.

As for the predictions of where we will be. I've said for a while we have a good squad. I gave Taylor credit for helping put that squad together as well.

Think I had em 10-13th

Well Ink,if I remember correctly I had them finishing at 9/10 if the halves improved, especially Brooks….it appears that way so far, let's hope the whole team improves and the injuries stay to a minimum if any...

Bumped into someone today that has a lot to do with the club and I would not say he has a great deal of confidence.
He mentioned Luke Brooks looks like he is seriously considering going to the dogs as he cannot stand playing under Taylor.
Moses will go as well as Taylor has killed off their natural instincts to play what's in front of them.
Taylor is driving the players mad with a gluten free diet.
This will probably Robbies last year with a deal to be sorted out in ESL.
Balmain no chance of paying off the debt , Wests Ashfield to buy another 25 percent with the other 25 percent being sold off to a private investor.
Madge is extremely unhappy at Souths with the Tigers ready to make a big play for him if he decides to leave , Ivan Cleary is the second choice and has already been sounded out.
As for Taylor he has six weeks to turn it around and the contract is in the clubs favour with no payout required should he be sacked after six weeks.

So, if Oxygen is to be believed, the club could have sacked him after 6 weeks and the club wouldn't have had to pay him out. At that point we'd lost 4 in a row. If true, it just makes it even more unlikely that he will be sacked going into next yr.

It just seems lile wishful thinking from farahs supporters.
Everything points to Taylor being here next year.

I've always said we have a good squad. I thought we needed Siro to come on and the halves to be more consistent. I think Aloiai and ET have filled that forward spot. The halves are still inconsistent but when they fire they are great.

Cherrington is out of the ISC game, does anyone know if he has been promoted to the bench in 1st grade? I'd be extremely happy if this is the case.

Agreed Flippedy, it seems pretty pointless. Let's hope there is a late change and he comes onto the bench.

Sorry, a bit unwell at the moment, the game is of course being played this evening.

I too would like to see Mania play firsts, you never know, it might be on the cards.
