Mate to be honest I was in favour of the unite action when it launched, I do think there is poor governance and self interest at play. The more I think about it though the more I think everyone is in the wrong, let's just win footy games. Richo is the only bloke involved with the club who knows his head from his "other end" when it comes to successful footy clubs so if he is ok with where things are then I'm happy to judge based on first grade performance.

I think the only thing that would bother me is a rebrand or split. Wests Tigers, that's it.

I don't think the petition organisers had any sort
of nefarious intentions though everyone is entitled
to think what they beleive especially on here hehe

Can the organisers of this latest destabilising action prove to everyone on here that what has been said about the board is completely and utterly true?

I reckon the answer to that is no.

So that leaves room for some doubt about anything that has been claimed Imo.

That then leaves room to suggest that the current action is happening for questionable reasons.

Once the independent directors are put on , which will also mean the constitution of the wests tigers corporate governance has changed to allow that , if it hadn’t happened already , then everyone will back off .
The pressure being put on is only to ensure that the final 5% as Richo calls it is put in place .
Once that happens , the self interest , nepotism , skullduggery that has littered the wests tigers for 25 years will go away . And every single fan will be happy .
We now await the end of January .

What are the intentions?

To make sure the review is implemented and any talk of bringing the magpies or Balmain back stomped out so that the club can resign players like Galvin without any noise about destabilization?

Yes Richo did say he would walk if not completed in full , I feel Richo and Barry rocked up Monday and went fork me what a mess again , Richo would have asked Barry simply is it getting held up in any way shape or form , Barry would have said yep , so Richo knowing full well if he front Romero and Burgess with this shit needs to end now or both myself and Barry walk this week , Romero would and is boxed in by 2 powerful men and the men if they walked would have created a massive shit show and it would all land on the 4 donkeys left in charge , I believe Richo organised the pod and told them directly that it’s getting done all of it and independent directors will we installed by end January , front up or else , he looked a bit frustrated and Romero looking at cook at 7.20 when Richo said it’s happening gave her away , she as our fearless leader was week and unseen really on the pod , couple words and let the other do the work , I ask her to come on a pod , everything on the table , won’t happen

There's nothing to suggest that the implementation of the review wasnt under way.

That’s just Monday morning quarterbacking mate! It forced transparency and a response , which I don’t believe for a second would have been forthcoming otherwise .
I’ve stated a million times I think Andrecchio in particular , is an unreliable narrator , and I only give Wayne a pass because of his history with wests .
But I also don’t think the things they said were lies either , and I do believe that the old board structure was holding us back massively , which even Richo eluded to it when he referenced the old board in that podcast , I’d just for a moment .
This is a good outcome . And exactly what I personally was gunning for .
For me it was only personal , if these people were putting self interest in front of the best outcomes for the wests tigers .
I personally don’t care if the petition did nothing , or everything .
All that matters is the changes are happening .
Which is a win for everyone I think .

Couldn't agree more coivtny👍 as I have seen VERY LITTLE RESPECT for the MAGPIES since I have been on here since 2019. And this is supposed to be the WESTS Tigers Forum 🤔.
 
Some amazing results from the petition! Well done to those involved.

It provided Richo with grounds to go public with HBG and ensure the recommendations would be fully deployed. He made sure to emphasize key parts to box it in.

Smart move also bringing in Simon Cook as he's a smart operator and also put some assurances in there.

They think it’s grandstanding for clicks and views for the podcasts.
I don’t think that’s the case at all .
I think that Gary ,Steve and Joel started all this at the end of 2023 with thier petition , and feel a personal responsibility to see it through to the end .
They needed outside advocates (rob , spartan , Adrian, the tiger town podcast) to get different voices on this issue , to add nuance .
That’s what happened . I firmly believe that , as I know the anger towards the most important review points -ie. the independents was taking a long time , and the guys were not happy about it in August .
I actually they’ve alienated themselves a little from the club , because they did start the petition , and rightly or wrongly have positioned themselves as not being a podcast that delivers the corporate message of the Wests tigers .
That’s my opinion , based on conversations I’ve had about this topic privately for a year or two . The petition itself was mentioned as an option mid last year , but the guys sat on it for 6 months in hope .
Did they go off early ? Or did them making noise force HBG to hurry up ?
I dunno and it doesn’t matter . The ends justify the means
 
Yeah saying they are one "happy family" - before or after they banned three long serving directors

That happened it wasnt a media beat up - don't insult our intelligence.

I'm happy to back Richardson while he has autonomy in relation to football matters and the directors that are left holding the can would have to be fools to risk that.
They ignored the noise for as long they could - Richardson and O Farrell are not giving air to anything - let's hope the focus is now on the footy.

You just answered your own grievance in the one paragraph! Go back and actually read what you just said …. Wests tigers forum ….. no respect for Balmain and magpies….. why is that ?
Because the wests tigers have been utter shit for most of the 25 years , and the number one reason is the infighting , which you continue , between factions .
So no one has respect for those factions whilst the club is shit …. Action- reaction !
When the club gets its shit together , and is successful , and those who want to talk about the magpies and Balmain arnt people influencing decisions but people invited to corporate events and celebrated as such , then the respect will be there .
Like the grandpa in the corner telling war stories . They used to make everyone uncomfortable, and cringe , now it leads to laughs and “ok grandpa” . Because grandpa isn’t the one sitting at the head of the table anymore.

I'm sure the 3 rebels would be supporting you, at least for their own questionable reasons, but Chammas and Hooper are there to report the news, not be all over it which gives the impression you are desperately trying to influence people against their will.

Wests Tigers Unite Welcomes the announcement that Independent Directors will be appointed this month.​

Wests Tigers Unite would like to officially recognise and thank Shane Richardson, Barry O’Farrell, Julie Romero and Simon Cook for their open and clarifying statements via the Behind The Roar podcast. It is both gratifying and refreshing to openly see Wests Tigers and HBG representatives working together for the betterment of Wests Tigers.

We look forward with anticipation and hope, to the independent directors being appointed at the end of the month and the constitutional change that will go along with that as recommended by the Crawford-Barnier report. We also anticipate and look forward to the constitutional change necessary that will support independent directorship at Wests Tigers.

We, at Wests Tigers Unite are committed to ensuring the long-term success of Wests Tigers in its current entity. We acknowledge that our campaign will reach its conclusion when an independent audit is completed, finding that the recommendations have from the Crawford-Barnier report have been implemented in full and that assurances have been given in writing that there will never be attempts to reinstate Western Suburbs Magpies or Balmain Tigers to the NRL again.

Was the review stopped ?

Has it stopped them from signing players on the last 12 months ?

Do you think Galvin gives a stuff about who is on the board ?

As was said 95% done … maybe the delay as put on a post earlier today / yesterday is to ensure that HBG/WA interests are still protected as owner , given the petition they have been right to delay.

The petition was baseless (no illegalities to involve liquor and gaming board) and goes against the wishes of the registered members of the west Ashfield

As for intentions it’s obvious the personal hate people have for HBG/ wests , I have not seen it with any other club (eels,dogies when they had board problems) take the potshots that are on here daily about at the looks and appearances of the individuals
