It’s only a trial , but I feel some of us have a big “I told you so “ coming if this is what Luke is dishing up every week. I’ve just gone and bought myself some GME stock , and gone all in on the Luke Brooks stock . Ride this rocket to the MOON !!!

Just back from the game and must say I am very impressed, high quality effort from the boys today against a lower quality team.

I think Laurie looked amazing today at Fullback and feel that role suits him much better than the 5/8th role. He is very elusive and looks dangerous every time he gets his hands on the ball, he chimes in so well on sweeping backline plays.

Roberts looks dangerous when ever the ball his in hands and it was very reassuring to see him getting early ball in space.

The 5/8th spot is really now the most difficult decision for me, Madden was fantastic in the 1st half and compliments Luke Brooks so well, Doueihi than came on in the second half and really dominated. For me after being disappointed in Madden in last weeks game I probably have him just in front of Doueihi.

Probably the most pleasing aspect of today's game was the control Luke Brooks had over the side, I really like him playing both sides of the ruck and he was just in the right place taking the right options all the time.

Our front rowers were great, multiple times they were taking multiple hitups in a set. Both Joffa and Tamou played 27 mins straight to open the game. I was also very impressed with Stefano, he has lost some weight and it is evident in his game. I though Mikaele fought really hard to prove a point when he got on which was pleasing to see.

Luciano is about to go to another level, he was so damaging running the ball and it was so great to see him starting to look for the offload again, he is going to destroy some teams this year.

I have a lot more to say about this game but better leave it here for now.

Was Roberts just as quick as it shown on live TV?

Who had a loud voice on the field?

Did Tamou seem to fit the captaincy role well, on and off?

I was at the game thought Tamou was awesome led from the front. Laurie was a great spark and Lucy was very dangerous on the edges. Thought Liddle looked really good out there and Brooks led the team well around the park.
I was not sold on AJ on the wing and I couldn't see if Joey L got out there.
I'm excited for 2021

Joey has a foot injury and was walking around in a moon boot.

Rd 1 Mbye at 6 ......better defensive player and will handle the increased defensive work load ....Laurie at 1 more room to use his speed and agility ......another no brainer really

Yeah at this point I don't see Laurie as a 5/8th, but think he is probably our best fullback.

I watched Laurie following Lucy all day today and that combination is going to score thousands. His go is to always be close to the ball and take advantage of offloads, even that quick play the ball when he scored. He's always close enough to be involved so he needs that roving fullback role rather than be slotted at 5/8.

Lucy was huge today, he could be one of the better second rowers in the game by season end.

I have him tipped to be an origin bolter. The only thing stopping him is Freddy's hatred for the tigers

I was worried about him, some players have one flash year and then go backwards. I was worried that could be Lucy but boy did he show some great signs today. I think he will be a much more complete footballer this year.

Did you see him off the ball? He's so enthusiastic, he's just driving everyone around him. He's one of our most valuable for sure.

The play that really typifies him to me was the Kepaoa try, he put Brooks away who ran 30 mtrs and took the tackle, Lucy was supporting on the right. When Brooks was tackled he rushed around to the left side of the ruck pulling the winger in and opening up the space for Talau to hit Asu in open space. Such an effort play that goes unnoticed.

Did you think Madden was great? I thought he held his own but I didn’t think he was overly impressive. I personally think he’s a fair bit off NRL. In saying that, not sure how good Mbye will be at 6.

Madden was really good today, didn't have the flash plays that Doueihi had but was very good playing a traditional 5/8th role. A lot of the balls that got us into space out wide in the 1st half were from Madden.

No argument that Doueihi was fantastic after his errors when he 1st game on. Though I will also point out that he played against the weaker opposition.

Wow what a game. How good are our forwards going. Poor old aloia. I would say almost every one of our forwards played better or ran harder then him. I thought he would be a loss, but wow was he made to look pedestrian today. My other takeaways were Tommy talau, I’d have him on the wing. Laurie has to play fullback with mbye at 5/8 for round 1. Simpkin reminded me so much of Harry grant. He will be a great player. Tulliagi looks great. Excited for round 1.

You must have seen something I didn't, never really noticed Madden today. I'd have Mbye ahead of him on utility value and experience.

Yes I’d have Mbye at 6 in round one but Madden played ok and is a good back up for us through the season.
And he’s only on the starting blocks .... confident he will turn out to be a solid first grader.

My opinion of him has changed since last week. I thought he played well and tackled hard. Great back up to have but will see limited time unless injuries hit.

This is the part I'm liking - Good solid front row and middle starting combo, then you've got more size and aggression coming at you with Stefano, Musgrove, Mikaele...

Hopefully none of that garbage when our first rotation went off.

Forwards looked great. Stefano ran like a truck. Joffa was great. Twal looked lean and fit. Packer looked possessed lol. Mikaele really surprised me with his leg speed. I’d prefer a Mikaele or Simpkins on the bench over seyfarth though. I would say he is our weakest forward.

Lol, looked like he was running with a lawnmower on his back. Poor old Alioai left tigers NOT for the money but to play with tommy and to play finals. Next minute gets lapped by 50 by the tigers lol.
