Home is just whever you lay your hat. Parra, Homebush or SFS would do but it has to be full-time.

But why? The Dragons don't seem to mind playing at Kogarah and Wollongong.

I honestly don't see what is wrong with splitting games, especially when we have a geographically diverse fan base.

Tell me why a club would have 3 venues in one city?

I don’t know mate. It sounds as stupid as having different colours and design on playing gear each week.

Yeah, we're not a club. A cliche, product, gimmick who knows what the hell we are. Maybe just a joke

We are the West Ham of the NRL
Not good enough to win the comp
Not bad enough to finish last

Or if you don’t follow the EPL where just a feeder club

If you look at my past posts you will see I have said a few times we don’t stand for anything. That’s why it’s so hard to build a culture, because nobody knows what to draw on. Hate to sound like a broken record but............1 home ground would be a big start.

We don't need to build anything. Culture stems from history, and we have two glorious histories married into one. We have the richest history and culture of any club.

Playing at one ground in Parramatta, Liverpool, Homebush or Moore Park will not add one drop of 'culture' to what we have playing in Campbelltown and Leichhardt.

In fact I'd go further. There's more to our culture in playing at both Leichhardt and Campbelltown, than there will ever be in us shifting to another ground for the sake of having one stadium.

A curse on Parramatta, a pox on Liverpool, a hex on Homebush. And an uppercut to anyone who says we need to choose between Campbelltown and Leichhardt.

No need to choose between either of them, I love Leichhardt but both grounds are fast becoming outdated.

Then upgrade them both .
Brookvale is about to receive a multi million dollar upgrade .

A multimillion dollar upgrade is lipstick on a pig. Need well in excess of $100m

Load of crap

There have been multi million upgrades done in the past and both grounds still aren't up to standard.

When we’re winning Leichhardt is always at capacity... punters don’t care about standards ..
The games go for 80mins ..
You young blokes are soft ...
It’s a game of footy ...you ain’t going to the Opera House for a glass of red and horderves

Mate, I love Leichhardt, I'm there rain, hail or shine and will be till we no longer play there. Sadly that day is fast approaching.

I know you’re a mega fan of Parramatta Stadium but playing there on a permanent basis will alienate more punters ...
If we go to one venue the logical answer is ANZ imo

The new SFS will be the ground of choice.

It very well could be, but that further confuses our identity in my opinion.

Exactly, meanwhile Leichhardt & CSS are unmistakably Tigers grounds and we dont lose money playing there. I genuinely dont see the point (for 4-6 low drawing games a year).

Because we don't do well financially there on low drawing games, the grounds are falling behind the standard and there is little chance of an upgrade and we lose that consistency that develops habits.

I think eliminating the low drawing games is beyond the imagination of some NRL fans and clubs. Drawing bigger crowds seems a step too far that holds the crap clubs back.

Winning is what brings crowds no matter where you play..

Pick 1 home jersey for eternity change the away every couple of years as well as the special round jumpers every odd year which allows for merchandise change..

You then get an identity...all clubs take home games to different venues throughout a year ...Stormplayed 1 game in Melbourne this year won a comp .. the ground had zero to do with it

All this talk about the grounds being substandard - what does a football ground need?

Tight, steep tiers of seats that you can't get comfortable in and every person needs to stand up every three minutes when someone wantt o go to the toilet or get food? No thanks.

Grandstands where you need a telescope to see the game? No thanks.

Over-priced food and drinks sold by a mega company? No thanks.

Corporate boxes for the elite? No thanks.

Access to media and sufficient lighting? Yes.
Reasonable toilets? Yes.
Reasonable grass cover and change rooms? Yes.
A lot of people are duped by the propoganda of 'it's outdated' of those who want suburban grounds to disappear so corporations and the big end of town can make more money.
Both Campbelltown and Leichardt are good grounds - no need to play anywhere else.

We under Sheens were the team which threw the ball around. Sure we didn't win every game but we had our style of football. Other fans knew and respected WTs for it. WTs had the capacity to bring through young, fast and exciting players into the NRL. Time to get back to what we do best.

We're supposedly in the black.

Yes, we need funds but you don't have to do it by selling your soul. I don't know how everyone became a football fan but to me football is tribal loyalty and territorial - you take your people out of their heartland and then they don't associate with their new place. I know so many people who simply stopped supporting league when we mergedf because they lost their link with the game and their tribe. I managed to talk a few around eventually but their heart isn't really in it like ti used to be.

I'll go to a big ground for a big game - you need them. But most of them are the worst place to watch football and I refuse to go for a club game. Governments only want us to move to those larger venues to maximise return for them.

We are in the black because we get a grant from a Leagues Club and spend less than other teams on the football department, want to stay small than play in small grounds.

A big ground doesn't make you big - small venue doesnt make you small.

Success on the other hand does help you to grow - and that is our major problem. That problem wasn't caused by a venue but a series of endless internal problems and bad decisions over time.

Yes, money is a necessity in a professional sport but the argument a big ground will get us there doesn't quite equate to me.

Apart from Suncorp those large stadiums rarely have a large crowd - if anything it makes league look bad and is an indication of a game selling its soul.

I watch a lot of games but it is only on the very rare occasion that a suburban ground gets sold out - bigger venues virtually never, even for finals.
We clearly have different viewpoints on this - respect yours but beg to differ.

We average higher crowds at stadiums and stadiums have better corporate facilities. We also don't spend to the level of the new football cap.

That makes sense. We have GF attendance records that will stand for eternity. Odd, don’t you think? Considering the rate of population increase in this country.

Source: https://afltables.com/rl/crowds/wests_tigers.html

To be fair, these stats can't be sorted the way I would like to and I am cherrypicking but -
Leichardt av.- 12,837
Campbelltown av. - 11,931
Bankwest av. - 9,588

I didn't include the SFS, SCG, or ANZ because semi-final stats would boost their averages - as much as I can I picked 'suburban' grounds as these are possibly truer stats - once again, I can't sort the stats as I would like so they may be distorted.
If anyone has a better source please share.

So Leichhardt can only take 300 corporates compared to Parra stadiums 3000 ..
Have you got the figures of how many corporates actually attend both venues ?

Older grounds don't give you the facilities to maximise that the return on that success. We are already spending less than other clubs.

Do you have stats to support either of those points?
I watch a lot of games but it is only on the very rare occasion that a suburban ground gets sold out - bigger venues virtually never, even for finals.

Did you eliminate stats for this year?
