There is a hell of a lot of truth in that. Time to move on from the foundation clubs, we are the Wests Tigers.

Why we havent moved 100% to Campbelltown and claimed the fastest growing region in Sydney as our own has me gobsmacked.
To appease the otherside the Pie gets dropped from the sleeve and then we grow from that as the Wests Tigers. Sydney newest Rugby League club. We own it.

Do we honestly think that when the time comes to cut Sydney sides we arent the 1st one up?
The drugged up alcoholic Ch9 favourite Fittler is already preparing his arguments to ditch/move us.

We have to make ourselves important to the league and infighting between the 2 halves and always looking backwards isnt going to help.
Our fans have been through enough for this league.

What infighting?
Leichhardt still holds its own. I’m not convinced like others here that multiple ovals is a hindrance. Players play where they are told they are playing, no problems.
I think we are looking at the new Liverpool development as another home ground.
Winning solves all these issues and that’s what the club is working on.

No infighting? Every time a decision is made based off the back off either original club the other side arcs up.

We haven't made finals in a decade almost. Would say that confirms its a hinderance. It would also take away a lot of the arguments that we dont have a home as such (The Den, The Nest, Bankwest).

I love the Den its holy ground, but will it ever get the upgrades it needs desperately? doubtful.
The Nest is getting more upgrades due to the Bulls soccer team coming in.

All our home games at Campbelltown with a back to Balmain game against say Souths.

Macarthur is our future or we become an easy target for another merger, move or just death.

We ain't going anywhere. That's a fact.

Is it though

If we abandon the Inner West the Roisters will happily move in and secure their future. It is a gold mine of talent.

And if we stay we will be the 1st out the door when Sydney club rationalisation comes in, and it will soon.

The media are already pushing their cases taking shots at us and propping up others.

I think you must have been asleep the last few years.

I don't believe WTs are in the crosshairs of the NRL.

Media show otherwise. We are the most dislike club in Sydney by the media. Hell probably the league.

We dared to give the League world the finger and didnt roll over and be taken over by the Worms (Balmain) or the Poundpups (Pies) back in 1999 to fit the narrative the League and media had prepared,.

Where the hell are you getting these names from?????

A redeveloped ANZ stadium at Homebush is the answer for our one home ground. Right in the geographical centre of Sydney and in the middle of Tigers heartland. Gladys putting the brakes on the redevelopment was a blow but it will happen eventually.

There's no doubt about it, we are a bloomin hotch- potch of a Club scattered around Sydney.
I suggested early in my time here on Our Forum, instead of the NRL re-locating Us to Perth (for example) and becoming the West(s) Australian Tigers, We should if feasible accept re-location $$$$ on offer and re-locate to Campbelltown.
Those $$$$ can then be used to pay Wests Ashfield to relinquish ownership of Wests Tigers.
We then move to the fastest growing area in Greater Sydney, which by the way will very soon have a population equivalent to that of Adelaide according to ABC Grandstand.
Both Soccer and AFL have had the guts to set up teams in that area with zero ready made supporters....why can't Wests Tigers!?
Let me be very clear on this as I don't want to be wrongly accused again of a Wests Magpies bias.
Yes, as You said Scomez, I was also broken hearted in 1963 and again in 1999, but Our Team is now Wests Tigers and I believe We will always be known as Wests Tigers....but I hope and pray the Magpie is Never deleted from the shoulder of Our jersey.
That is imo...."who we are".

Totally disagree with you Mate - Sorry, know you are passionate but if you think the SW is the answer, we are doomed and you will bury the Tiger along with your beloved Magpie.

and that is the hard part. All well and good to expect one side of the merger to give something up but you have to be willing to do the same.

I think "most" of us have already done that - it's just a few stragglers hanging onto old memories. They'll change or will no longer be with us.

success isn't built with just one big move. it's built over years and years or hard work.

WT as a business hasn't been too bad compared to other clubs. We need to change our on field performances and I don't think that will happen with identity changes and home ground changes

Russell and I dont agree on much
But campbletown and the SW is not the answer
Also getting rid of the white /grey jersey and bring back a gold option and keeping a black option

Where does our corporate support come from?

Where do most of our local juniors come from?

With respect if we dont do something we wont be here. We need to take a chance.

There is a niche market in the Ashfield and inner west areas. The COE is being built at Concord.

I'd like a COE at Campbelltown as well for WTs but is there a funding source or indeed support for WTs in Campbelltown?

I think we will end up with some type of training facility out at Campbelltown, at least for the juniors use.

I've just posted on the Liverpool Stadium thread that the money should be spent on sporting facilities in regional. areas for both the community but also to stimulate local employment.

I think it’s time we stopped looking at the past and who we were a generation ago and instead started looking forward.

Agreed 100%, I was saying the other day I recently turned 42, the Wests Tigers are 21. As of right now the Wests Tigers have been in my life for longer than the foundation clubs. For anyone younger than me that is the case.

This is an incredibly valid point that I hadn't thought of (also 42) I have accepted the merger long ago but this comment validates it.

The comments here are the only ones the club needs to heed most when selecting a home ground ... it’s the future and the younger supporters that will be the life blood of our club .. in 10 yrs Leichhardt and Campbelltown will just be a memory for those in nursing homes !

Yep, the future is coming, I would suggest anyone who has an opinion about where we play, who we are. Argue it now, put your point of view forward, make sure the club knows what your opinion is. Then when the decision is made, accept it embrace it. That is what I'll be doing. This is my club and I will accept the decision made but I won't stop putting my opinion forward until that decision is made.

Did anyone get the Wests Tigers survey the other day?
Was hoping it was going to be about who we are and what we think about the future etc., but unfortunately it was all related to our knowledge, recognition and perception of sponsors.
