I understand that having one NSW Cup side for the Wests Tigers may be in its best interest, but it isn't in the Liverpool/Macarthur/Southern Highlands regions best interest if its based at Concord or Leichhardt. And this region in an area we need Wests to maintain control off.
Now if we were to continue as the Magpies in the NSW Cup without the addition of a few fringe NRL players we would never be competitive and that would also be bad for junior development. For good players to develop into better players they need to have better players around them they can learn off and start to learn how to win. Develop a winning culture.
If Wests Tigers wont provide those fringe NRL players needed, then I guess the Magpies would be well within their rights to look elsewhere for those players.
The Wests Tigers solution to this problem…
Either let the Magpies be their sole NSW Cup feeder
or have a Wests Tigers NSW Cup team and base it out of Macarthur.
Simple really.
