Balmain are keen to give up a nsw cup team as the tigers brand stays alive (and even stronger within WT) wests magpies are fighting to stay alive in NSW cup as its their only form of identity left. BRET becomes a team with no junior base to tap into and because they cant let the magpies brand stay alive by letting wests magpies be the sole feeder club for WT (as they have provided 90% of juniors to WT) the juniors will be going elsewhere.. Its a sad and frustrating dilemma.

Wests Tigers have shown Wests great disrespect by not allocating them a fair share of NRL players. Balmain have shown disrespect also by not insisting Wests get their fair share and taking all of the best NRL players possible.
Wests Magpies wont be forced into folding by Wests Tigers. And if Wests Tigers disgracefully refuse to provide them what is rightfully theirs, they will seek quality players from elsewhere.

@Tiger Watto said:'Wests Magpies Mercenaries' - nothing new, this is what they have been doing for years
Keep up the good work Wests… You have been the laughing stock of the competition for 100 years - Keep the Tradition alive!!!
@Tiger Watto said:I'm not Balmain… I'm a Queenslander who has always hated the Magpies!
And they are acting like Mercanaries by taking this path... I'd say the Wests boys on the WT Board are probably embarrased by all the goings on out that way. Nothing good will come out of this, other than a continuation of the 'ol boys club' mentality that will most likely see Humpty & Sheens alienate the Magpies further.
Stay in NSW Cup if they like, but aligning themselves with other NRL Franchises isnt appropriate!
@Tiger Watto said:The Magpies are 50% owners of the Wests Tigers, but only about 5% of what comes out of the WT's is Magpies, so I can live with that…

Called for. I will say it again!! **Balmain dont care about identity** or survival within NSW cup as they have already blended their identity with ryde eastwood, **no real physical leagues club and a small junior league** that has been combined with st george district for over 15 years. **Balmain have contributed a handful of first grade players to WT have no money yet i do not slander balmain with offensive comments** about being a team of non contributors or hopeless like everyone seems to refer to as wests. We are a club of unfortunate circumstances going back decades and a club that wasnt around would mean no WT or any Balmain in top flight rugby league. **Respect thr history and traditon of both 1908 clubs**.
