What is your 2017 forecast for us?

The biggest question for me is the outside backs. Unlike many on here, I don't don't think MCK has enough pace to be our regular centre. I suspect Rankin will get moved on from wing for either a value purchase from elsewhere or one of our juniors.

If Kev & Tim are still our centres for next season, I would maybe consider moving Nofo away from Kev.

I think you could get away with one or maybe two of our three quarters but not all four.
Some serious change is needed.

2017 will determine is Brooks stays or goes….1 thing is for sure....we must re-sign at all costs Moses and Teddy

Just feel the last two years have been largely wasted with the obsession of trying to oust Farah.
Don't think the club the players, Taylor the fans or anyone has benefited from it - and still not officially resolved.
Providing he goes next year there better be some noticeable and instant growth considering the determination shown by the coach to single him out as being the factor detrimental to the team moving forward.
No excuses left for the coach then and to some extent those who backed him.

The Farah saga has only been going on for 12 months. Perhaps there were issues beforehand when Taylor started (or even before Potter left), but from a media point of view, it has been 12 months.

Go said when Taylor joined that the salary cap issues will be around for 3-4 years. Taylor has not even got through 2 years yet. However, those constraints are likely to further dissipate next season. Definitely, there will be no excuses next season, but some on this forum just don't have patience or have some emotional issue with Taylor.

I think you will find it was well on the agenda before the public knew about it. Farah himself said he had an inkling that he was in trouble before the infamous chat.
And considering he was reportedly going to be taking up a vast amount of money in their cap I'd say it was high on their to do list.

Our club has promised us that we'll be in the top 4 next year. Would they really lie to us?

Seriously though, top 6 should be the aim. Will need some decent work in the transfer market over the summer, and a change in attitude at the club. Even over the last few weeks, I feel as though JT and co have been happy to be there rather than winning at all costs.
There's no excuses for missing the 8 this year IMO, doing it again next year and heads need to roll.

It literally depends on whether JT is coach or not. We need to be doing everything right to have a chance of making the 8 next year.

I also agree that 2017 will decide if we should keep Brooks. I don't see why you would spend alot of money to keep him when the money could be spent on a good edge backrower/centre.

Or kept TMM and let Brooks go. But you know. They're all friends so wouldn't want to upset them.

Make the finals but crash out in the first week causing the call for JT to not be renewed and we will get the second coming of Tim Sheens back at Concord.

You would like to think tis team is on the up and have further improvement in them, but I just wonder if a new head coach or a new defensive coach is going to make any difference. I mean its basically the same squad that missed a truck load of tackles and made countless bad reads that will be running around in 2017.

No obvious goal kicker on the horizon, short on for a centre a class backorder and a class winger and no cap space sort of makes me think around 10th again. Also a worry plenty of contract negotiations to distract the players

My prediction is more of the same as we'll have the same 7 and and predominantly the same pack which seem to be just a bit behind whats needed to make the finals.

If we remain injury free, on the back of 3rd season in with the same coach, same halves and fullback, as well as another year of experience for our forwards, plus stability at a corporate level, then we will definitely be in the mix for the top 4…

On top of that if Moses can improve his kick %, or we are able to sign / promote a decent kicker as well as extend ETs contract and promote Liddle, then there is no reason we can't win the premiership...

Only reason i can see we won't make the finals next year is if we have a really bad run with injuries to our spine...

Farah needs to go, Liddle should come into the Top 25 and hopefully alternate with Ballin if he is fit. We retain JAC (somehow) or find a good winger to replace him. ET stays and our forwards improve even more on this season. Hopefully Brooks and Moses find the spark that we've all been waiting for and develop a gun combination.

All things being equal, I think 6th position on the ladder at regular seasons end.

A replica of this season and hope Manly Souths and the roosters dont have better seasons than they did this year !

I wonder if Panthers and Raiders fans downplay their seasons because of other teams underachievements.

Every year there are under achievers and over achievers. You can not control what is happening at other clubs, you just have to turn up and beat the team your up against and any win is a good win regardless what is happening with the other team. Also in most cases its the old saying, you can only play as well as you are allowed to play

Need to find Moses a half partner and we need a proper dummy half.

positions 10 to 14 is my expectations given we have the same cattle for 2017 as for 2016.

Hopefully Farah moves on as I hate drama that effects the club. (yes I am a Farah fan)

In my mind the improvements we have made over last season are probably attributable to the 2016 playing squad vs the 2015 playing squad, especially accounting for the fewer injuries this season. Most of the new players have been a notable improvement on the players we replaced, along with others that have benefited from a season in NRL. I believe this has contributed far more to the lifting of our overall standard than anything JT has accomplished with the group. The question then is…will we be able to keep improving our squad or stay injury free next season?? If not, we can expect a similar year at best.
