What will your views be on JT and the club if......

With all the upheaval, drama and chaos going on with our club post season, two big question poses for everyone for this time next year. For most people being in the semis next year is the only acceptable finish and anything less is a failure. Which is totally understandable.

What will your views be on JT and the club if…...

A - We finished inside the top 8 and played semi finals football

and

B - We finished outside the top 8 and took no part in semi finals football.

My view will be the same, Chris.
It does depend on commitment from the team and the effort they put in.

If they make the 8 that will be good experience for them.
If they don't and the effort is there that will be good too.

Far too many people on here have unrealistic expectations of the Board, the coach, the youngsters and the team put together with no bread in my opinion.

Give them a go is what I say and the people being negative - give some words of support for a change, instead of ripping people apart at every turn.

Taylor will be sacked by round 6.
We are trying to lose intentionally our recruitment and retention tells us this. losing taupau shows no player with talent will resign with the tigers

We are all paid members so the support is there but if you were intentionally trying to kill us off you couldn't do it better than the current management.

I am sure everyone on this forum will support the club no matter where we finish, but also every supporter has the right to criticize what they dont agree with.I have been critical of some players coaches and management and will do till the day i die but my support for the club has never wavered.
Everyone on here is entitled to their point of view even if i disagree with it . I just wish the club would improve their decision making

Spot on. Well said Jadtiger. :supporter:

If by any Chance JT gets us playing Semi Final Footy in 2016 ? he deserves to see out his Contract….no if buts or maybes .
I will also eat humble Pie and admit that i have absolutely no knowledge of how games plans should be instructed and while i'm at it will apologize for being so wrong in my Judgement of him being a Coach.

I think the above is such at long Odds to happen it's not funny.

And If we finish between 14th - 16th in 2016 ? i would like to see the Jason Taylor lovers admit that he simply hasn't got it and they were wrong ever thinking he had it

He still doesn't have the playing roster

Give him our 2012 roster and if he failed axe him

Our 2012 roster would put 50 past the 2016 version

So finishing between 14th-16th is quite O.K for you and he shouldn't be held accountable ?

I disagree with you. Improvements should be witnessed within the Squad if they believe in his methods.

I'm not saying Top 8 is a must with this Squad ? i don't think we are , but 10th to 13th should be achievable IMO at the very least.

A - I would eat massive humble pie and say Jason Taylor is a coaching genius. In reality with half the comp making the top 8 every year and only having to win half the games we should be in the top 8 every year as a minimum. Our club has only made the top 8 only 3 times in the last 15 years that is unacceptable and shows how badly we have been run.

B- We miss the top 8 I fully expect with coaches of the calibre of Geoff Toovey, Walker Brothers and Ivan Cleary without a job that Jason Taylor will be fired and not coach the third year of his contract.

there is knowledge of result and there is knowledge of performance. what you're referring to is the results so i'll try converting it to a knowledge of performance. i believe that 6-12 is a lottery. there are too many factors outside anyone's control that make you either 6-8 or 9-12.

so my reaction is the following

1-5: excellent.
6-12: lucky/unlucky. the current management, staff, coaches need another year.
13-16\. good bye, try again (somewhere else)

If what is left of the WT roster finishes in the Top 8, I'll eat my hat. My views on JT won't have changed. If we finish outside the 8, I'll sink 15 schooners. My views on JT won't have changed. There is a culture that is sickening and between Robbie, Marty, Curtis and the rest of the basket cases, I really just want October to roll around so I can get back to watching NFL.

I will give you the tip he will never get the playing roster he wants and I can't imagine one top player or their manager convincing them to come here unless we pay massive massive overs. As we probably need about 3-5 representative type players (top centre, two backrowers and another prop) I can't see that happening.

We supposedly have some of the finest young talent in the game (we pay a lot of our juniors like they are already SOO players) lets see what Jason Taylor can do with that. A spine of Tedesco, Mosses, Brooks and Farah/Cherrington should be good enough with a decent coach with good game plans to make the top 8\. I just don't think Jason Taylor is a good coach.

I have to agree with TYGA.

But what really worries me… is that we don't improve and taylor gets sacked by round 10\. His currents philosophy with improving little by little and not expecting overnight results, so in fact by saying it will take 1 or 2 years, will be his downfall and the damage that he and the current management have done by backing taylor and his game plan and future decisions for the club will be incomprehensible and take another 1 or 2 years to fix. In terms of getting a competable playing squad and building back the integrity for the fans and future players that might consider joining the tigers.
Plus we are treading on very fine ice with the philosophy of expanding the NRL.

The only way we'll make the top 8 is if eight other teams get stripped of all points for massive salary cap breaches .. And that ain't gonna happen .

So in other words .. Sack the scarecrow !!!

Do we really expect to keep all our talented youngsters if we don't improve. Every players dream is to win a premiership in their careers

All I read is no player in the NRL worth anything.. No player agent.. No decent assistant coaches …no one of any statue will come to the Weststigers while Taylor is the head coach .Now can anyone that has posted any of the above PLEASE verify who and where they have heard this .It is becoming increasingly difficult to believe any of this .It may well be true but verification would be a start, the vitriol against Taylor is becoming ridiculous I know what I see and do hear a few things from time to time but never heard any of the above. I believe it is more about Taylor finally calling out the favourite son and putting him in his place .

I think at the interview prior to being given the nod to be our clubs coach, he conditioned the board to cover his bum for a few years. Given the dire straits of our finances, the club is on a hiding to nothing. The coach usually wears it, but I think in JT's case, he's only wearing it from the fans. The board seem to be totally behind him. Which I think is great - as long as it comes off. I'm not a fan of JT's style though. They pretty much bored the crap out of me last year most games. Hopefully it's not the same this year. If we sign Moses and Brooks on outrageous numbers for the coming seasons, we'll never be able to find capable forwards and centres to give us what we all want. We need a James Roberts for speed and a grubby back rower to partner Joel Edwards. I have a good feeling about that bloke.

Who are they… These JT lovers?
You guys pushing these factions are pathetic.

On the OP, my opinions won't be if we do or don't make the eight.... How we play... How we carry ourselves as a club... The attitude we display or lack of it onfield... How we react to adversity (players coach and board)... These things are what's important to me... Most of these need a major improvement on this year.

We can be average and scrape into the eight or we can play proudly and very well but unluckily just miss... Who knows?
