Better watched with the sound down though.

Man we should have won the whole thing that year. Such a skilful team

Well we just need to stop Josh Papalii. Make a statement. Hes there leader.

Yeah that Jack Wighton fella is a pretty good player too

He is but without go forward he is mitigated like all teams. Tackle Papalii hard and fast often and see how the Raiders react.

exactly some on here think Wighton walks on water, he has had a fantastic pack for 2 years giving him plenty of room to move
We need on Sunday to stop Papali and the go forward that takes away Wighton's running that is his strength .
We have an opportunity to punch some real holes in the raiders backline this game
If Joffa and Tamou fire up front we will win this one

Prime BQM and RF that!

We really missed our shot in 10/11. Crazy how quickly our window shut after only 2 years, go from top 4 to 10th in just one off season....

That warriors semis loss might just be the most devastating loss in the clubs history. How we cooked that game I still don’t know

We were going to be the new ManU lol

It's the time for optimism again, so can there be any another other result than
wests tigers **25**
raiders **18**

Serious? We have been pummelled by them by 50 points for the last 5 years. I thought we would have the worst recent record against the Raiders of any team. That being said, we may not have played many Sunday arvo games at Canberra in last 5 years. We were their bogey said in the Benji/Farah era.

I think the last time WT scored 25 points in a game was round 21 in 2018. Brooksy sailed a 1 pointer between the sticks to put us 7 up on the knights.
I think Brooks is more than capable of a 2 pointer.
I’m surprised Souths didn’t use a feint to kick to unsettle Storms defensive line when they were chasing the scoreboard?

After watching Storms win, a few things stood out.
The standard modern and sometimes boring game of playing safe in your own half and only attacking in the oppositions 25 maybe on the way out.

The ball playing and offloads was impressive.

The need for a strong bench ,Storm lacked power there.

The need for all spine players to have speed and good hands, as shown in the 1st half storms spine terrorised Souths.

I am confused about the Raiders. They've got the best depth in the forwards of any team but outside backs apart from Scott/CNK are very slow and average.

I see us starting extremely fast. 32-30 Tigers

Interesting comments. How would you rate our bench compared with Raiders? I’m thinking it’s line ball?

Yep all fair points.
Bench will be soo important can't afford to have any passengers. I know it's round one but both teams looked absolutely gassed from about the 50 min mark onwards. Support play will be key because offloads will flow.

Another thing I saw is that teams no longer "get to a point then attack from there". Teams go play for play in trying to strip numbers, trying to stretch the defensive line one play at a time until it can't withstand any more attack.

Melbourne and Souths went about this in different ways. Melbourne would use their big forwards to generate quick plays of the ball, then do a deep shift either left or right, trying to isolate the centre (2nd man in). Souths would use that left-side play of Walker out the back to Latrell to generate momentum in a set.

I think it will be a very similar game to last night, if you can build momentum you'll score points and you'll do it quickly. only question is whether or not our defence can hold the onslaught when it comes. Raiders are a very tough side to stop when they're on the front foot. got no doubt in our attack, it comes down to our ability and willingness in defence and being able to weather the storm when it comes.

That's when I'd like to see Laurie, Brooks and even Jimmy Jet push up in the middle. I'm thinking when Talau comes on maybe he attacks in the middle to get quick play-the-balls and generate leg speed relying on (presumably) a running 5/8th style of game.

Yeah I assume Talau will play much like Benji did last night, bit of a link man, but will (hopefully) actually engage defenders and give space to the men out wide.
It seems most teams will want to introduce either a 3rd play maker or a second DH when they have control of possession and are looking for points.
