Where did the Klemmer "money" go? (TT?)

This is why I assumed we had the money to sign ET. Tiger Torch said we offered 700k to Klemmer. We can't have spent that money

You might find it had a big TPA attached to it based on Klemmer signing …..

That's why sometimes you need to look at the figures offered and see if it looks realistic salary cap wise

700 k for someone who struggles to play maybe 50 minutes every week probably isn't realistic

The only props in the game on that money are playing 70 - 80 minutes I'd reckon

Say it was $500k + $200k TPA where has that money gone? :/

Hopefully if we have the 500 k left one E Taylor

Things change and we have a few players still unsigned for 2017

im guessing all our money has gone to:

Moses, Brooks, Tedesco, Woods, Farah (very publicised) and Chris Lawrence.

all their contracts are probably going up every year too - especially the young ones

anyone know if teddy gets a bonus next year because of SOO

Thats usually a standard clause I think tho not certain…same for winning a comp.

TT said last year the club was something like $1mil under the cap. It was then proven that a club wouldnt be allowed to field a team in the NRL if they were that far under

You have to spend a minimum of the cap. Geo I think it was put the link up for the salary cap rules ages ago.

And Klemmer was never coming.

I can't remember which thread it was in, it was linked here and it did stipulate that a minimum of the cap had to be spent.

It was said you have to spend 90 percent of the cap they also say it came in because the Tigers keep spending way under the cap when Sheens was in charge for the first 7 years the money they give you is for the players not for running of club

And That is now why the clubs want the grant to be 2 million above the cap so they can spend the money running the club

And also talking about the cap the comments about Tim Sheens destroyed the cap is absolutely B/S what player was still at the club on the books that Sheens help sign or resign in 2015 it was only Lawrence and some of Blairs money and 2016 only Lawrence the current managing of the cap is still B/S

And how many of the current players resign with the current board I would say over 70 percent so how can they keep on blaming others

Don't buy what they are selling

Sirro also took up his option, although maybe not on too much?

The breaches of the salary cap and salary floor regulations outlined by the NRL are exceeding the salary cap, **falling below the salary floor**, not informing the NRL of payments, late or incorrect lodgement or loss of documents relating to player financial and contract details or engaging in contract tampering. Trading cash for players is also prohibited to prevent wealthier clubs from evading the salary cap and salary floor regulations.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Rugby_League_salary_cap#cite_note-9

Had the regulations link from the NRL somewhere but can't find it for now will keep looking…from memory Clubs must spend 96% of the Cap each season...Introduced in 2010..

couldnt find anything about a minimum

I wrote to ther NRL directly about this a few months ago and got this reply:

_"Below is the top tier and second tier salary cap info, and increases for the 2016 season;\
\
TOP 25 2015 2016\
\
Salary Cap Base 5,350,000 5,600,000
Sponsor Servicing Allowance 200,000 200,000
Veteran Player Allowance 250,000 300,000
Marquee Player Allowance 600,000 600,000
Motor Vehicle Allowance 100,000 100,000
TOP 25 TOTAL SALARY CAP 6,500,000 6,800,000\
\
NRL SECOND TIER SALARY CAP 460,000 480,000\
\
There is a minimum spend on the Top 25, it is a requirement of the 2013-17 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).\
\
The CBA is an agreement between the Rugby League Players Association (RLPA)and the NRL, with the Players and the NRL Clubs bound by it.\
\
In 2015, the minimum Top 25 spend is $5,895,000 per Club.\
\
The top tier salary cap applies to the top 25 players from each club, and any other operations staff fall outside of the cap.\
\
Teams cannot 'stockpile' money from the cap for future years.\
\
We are not in a position to comment on the Salary Cap position or CBA compliance of an individual Club as that is a matter between the Club, the NRL and the RLPA."_

Hope it helps…

Clubs making deals with players money? That's not tiresome that's got to be seen for what it is. What's the basement for?

I asked a Bulldogs employee & he said that the "tigers had discussions with Klemmers team but there was no offer(the Dragons were the only club to put in a formal offer) as his asking price was to be guaranteed not including TPA's(as TPA's are not guaranteed). He also said that he signed with the dogs for lower than what he was asking, but at least he knows he will be getting paid"(laughing).
