Where do you want us to play?

With a reply like that @colinbh, you get 11/10.
I've been bangin on about making Campbelltown Our Wests Tigers home ground for a while, so I thought I would give it a rest, till now that is.
With all the positives 'you' have mentioned though, you have rekindled the spark.
I really and truly wouldn't be able to understand how our Club could decide to play Our home games anywhere else but Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...if the head honchos of the NRL want to relocate Our Wests Tigers, they can damn well relocate Us to Campbelltown, by giving Us the 'relocation grant' to buy out Wests Ashfield.
Every team we play has its own geographical area. We don't!!!
Our players have to sleep in their cars o'nite if they can't afford to buy a caravan to travel from one far-flung ground to another.
But, as Wests Ashfield own Our Club, they would probably like Us to play in the virginity of Ashfield as my Very learned friend Cochise has said, and I respect that view. Therefore they will probably want us to play at Homebush or as has been suggested by another very learned Poster...Concord.
But wait, there's more. Wests Ashfield may have a plan in place to purchase the land upon which stands my old school Ashfield Boys High and build a brand spankin new stadium there, as it's right next door to their Club. And of course, this means we will have to be re-named as Homebush Tigers or Concord Tigers or Ashfield Tigers depending on which ground is finally chosen. And don't forget that these grounds are all smack bang in the geographical CENTRE of Sydney, so how on earth can we be the Wests Tigers, we can't, it's as simple as that.
We need Our own identity. we are The Wests Tigers, we need to play in the West.
Here endeth the lesson!!!
Ps...for 'today' that is.

Rusted on fans will go to any reasonable stadium.

Other fan will go to stadiums that are convenient or they have a connection to.

If the team is winning casual fans will turn up at any stadium. Have a look at the back end of 2005 and later years where we were often a top8 team and crowds were near capacity at all grounds.

I voted other and hopefully my explanation makes sense, here it goes:

In 7 news I saw some report in relation to the new West Connex tunnel in full scale operation due to school holidays being over today.

Apparently there is a park lands area in Rozelle that will possibly be turned into a major sporting stadium. Did anyone else see this today?

Bankwest is by far the best option for me.

Leichhardt and Campbelltown just don't have the facilities to be able to attract corporates.

Homebush is far too large for what we need. Even after the refurbishment (if it ever happens), the view is awful and there is no atmosphere. While access is okay, parking adds extra cost for the day and it takes forever to get out of the carpark afterwards.

Meanwhile, Bankwest gives the best view I have ever had at the footy. Parking in the streets is easy and only a few blocks away. The main downsides I hear from people are:
1. We don't feel like the home team. Answer - turn up and bloody well support your team. Make it feel like a home game!
2. We don't want to give money to Parra Leagues Club. Answer - don't set foot in the place!

I'd be interested to see what the SFS looks like after it is rebuilt. That one is a maybe for me.

For Me in the ideal world,

We would have a stadium similar to Parra (slightly smaller) out Campbell way.

Play and train there.

PS - Im not local at all. Just my take for the future

@Cultured_Bogan I would vote for 1 each @ Leichhardt and Campbo, with the rest at the revamped Olympic stadium, as the best compromise and reckon it would score reasonably.

Best post on this topic, shame we are in the minority. I completely agree with your post!

We should have canned LO 10 years ago. The council won't let the return of the leagues club development in the area, we should not be paying them rental for the ground. We must look like losers to them, just bend over and take it...then give them cash.
But really sad is 20 years on we play at more grounds than we started. Its going in the other way than it should be.

We need to have an identity and sharing grounds with other clubs hinders that chance of creating an identity. Stick to CSS and as @GNR4LIFE said with the games going to LO like the bulldogs do with Belmore.

Crowds at CSS are pretty underwhelming. Doesn't break 10k very often. In my opinion CSS is not the answer.

Train station next to the ground, great club next door, warm up and training ground next door, three car parks, one undercover and a great playing surface.

With a winning team, I am confident that it would be capacity at most games.

A winning team will be needed for the sell out? Better rule out cs then we will never fill it....

Its actually up to the fans to provide the atmosphere to make it our home ground, if people show up with the right attitude and support our team then it will feel like our home ground!

@tony-soprano

Why did you time it?

Because I was curious of how long it actually took and as I suspected it was longer than indicated. That’s from entrance to entrance. From the gates of the station until the gates of the stadium.

You timed it for one reason and one reason only, so when it was brought up here you could use it as an argument. Really shows the attitude that you went to the game with to begin with doesn't it? Looking for your arguments before you even made it to the ground! lol

You have no idea what you are talking about. The forum was the furthest from my mind. Grow up will you. Gees.

Regardless you went to the ground with a negative attitude, you were trying to find a negative from the time you left the station.

You still have no idea what you are talking about. You have no idea what my attitude was at all. I was very positive, by the way, about our chances. You are making it all up to fit your narrative. You are looking rather foolish now. All I did was time the walk from the gates of parra station to the gates of the stadium and back so I could see how long it took me to get there. Nothing more and nothing less. Don’t try and make it any more than that. It just so happened that when someone said it was five minutes walk I knew it took me longer. But hey never let the facts get in the way of your narrative.

I may have read too much into your post but I do find it a weird thing to time the walk when you arw in the way to a footy game, especially doing so 3 times.

I also find it strange people would want us to play in a stadium that we struggle to 25% fill when there is a stadium with a more appropriate size 15 mins away.

I took three different routes/paths to see if any were significantly quicker/slower. That’s why the three times. They all took me roughly the same amount of time, depending on traffic lights etc.

I know Mike's shadow well , it is above board when it's not being shady

I would just leave it as it is for now even though I don't think the new Parra stadium is a long term option as it feels similar to when we played there years back, it feels like the Eels home ground
It's always hard to know when it will be completed but I'd sign up at the revamped Homebush Stadium whenever it's finished. Surely after they spend $800 million+ on it and it seats 70,000 with a roof, it'll be as good as it gets and a worthy home for the Tiges. Maximum 1 game at Cambo or Leichhardt from then on, if at all
I've never got the hate on Homebush myself but surely after all this it will be the place to be and in terms of our supporter base of Balmain, Wests Ashfield and Cambo, it sits pretty well in our area
