Who are you going to replace Taylor with?

Taylor is a dud coach in many people's opinions. I think we get it already. :deadhorse:

But who does everyone want to replace him with? Toovey?

Who is everyone's magic, fix-it-all replacement?

I actually thought Payten was going to be the coach for this season but I guess he was talking too much about Potter behind his back and that's why he got the broom. JT will keep his job but if he didn't then I'd still be keen to see Todd sounded out about the position.

I said it back in 2014 and I will say the same. The team being so Junior required a strong, extremely experienced and wise coach and the perfect candidate would of been Steve Folkes. The same goes now, I said it at the time Taylor was appointed that it was a big mistake he got the job. The team needed an experienced coach instead they went with a bloke who has hardly set the world alight!

I think young sides, especially nowadays, need a mentor they admire and want to play for as much as a strategic coach. Taylor is a social idiot. In hindsight a very poor decision. This is exactly why I wanted them to sign Hook. His Broncos boys loved him. Look what Bennett's been able to do by bringing in Boyd and Milford. Hook laid a great foundation for the Broncos.

Hook with Taylor as the autistic genius assistant would have been a decent combo, but Taylor the dictator… bzzzzzt.

Now, give them to Kidwell for the remainder of the season to see if he can get some mid season coach magic out of them and if not give the gig to Toovey, and while you're at it get him to bring Joey with him as a halves coach.

A team manager and specialist coaches, ESL style...That's what we need. Even Sheens as a team manager with some specialists wouldn't be a bad idea at this point.

Early days at the moment but i kind of like the Toovey Johns combination.

I wonder what Kevin Walters would be like as a coach? Worked under Bellamy as assistant coach at the Storm and currently the Broncos assistant coach. Wayne loves him. Had him as Halves coach at the Knights last year.
Was also head coach with Catalans Dragons in France, and head coach of Ipswich Jets.

Griffin is involved with the Central Qld Capras side Mac

CQ Tiger and I debated how big a role he has with them but I know he directly sacked their last coach and then convinced him to run with the fact he was quitting as his wife has cancer

Last weekend the Capras played PNG Hunters in PNG and the club were so disorganized they could only get 15 players with visas to PNG and offered two local players in PNG one match contracts

The Capras got flogged 68-4 and their only try was scored by the local player contracted in PNG

The Capras are in a worse situation than the WT's granted , but I'd reckon we don't need him anywhere near us

It must be a senior coach with the ability to manage all facets of the football operations…

After 4 years of Potter and Taylor [2016], we need to throw the 'super dooper vision plan' ideas in the bin and find a senior coach willing to make the tough calls plus get each individual to do there job on the paddock from year 1.

The hunting list in order looks like this:

1\. Hasler
2\. Bellamy
3\. Robinson

Dont worry about the "how we gona afford them" or the "we are broke" BS, these 3 will bring enough sponsors, players and clout with them to pay the bills!

Spot on. No 10 year plans for success. Its about winning as many games as possible with the squad that we have. Then looking to add the right players that are available. Maybe the coach should have nothing to do with recruitment and retention. The coaches job is to get the team to perform to the best of its ability.

I think Taylor has a 3 yr contract, He has a squad that's weaker then last year, What did we really expect this year, We cant just keep getting rid of Coaches.

So true, what did people expect?? Austen,Blair and Thompson all left a team that was struggling in 2014, they were replaced by a bunch of kids in 2015\. So as expected we have gone backwards. Point the finger at the people who control the finances who have let this club nearly bleed to death but not the coaches, well not yet at least, every coach needs two years before their hanged. Dont want to be like Parra where a coach get sacked most years

I can't see Taylor being replaced just yet, even if we get the spoon. I've heard he has supporters in the boardroom and the club can't afford to pay him out then find another suitable one. And where do we find a suitable one? The truth is, we need a coach who is an astute tactician, who can make the hard decisions and who is a strong man manager. Robinson, Hasler and Bellamy all fit the bill but how on earth can we afford them?? No, unfortunately, we are stuck with Taylor and hopefully he can learn from his mistakes before he loses the players as well as the supporters…..

Taylor is responsible for releasing players & allowing others to negotiate. Taylor should join the man that appointed him.

We can still keep Taylor but drop him to an assistant coach position and bring in a capable assistant coach from any grade/club to take over Taylor's position. I am sure that there would be many very capable assistant coaches who would jump at the chance and at the same time not ask for much money for what would be a great opportunity.

**Who else but, Terry Hill, could you imagine the half time spray?**
All jokes aside, don't replace him, can't afford it.
Who can be bought in to assist him?
Why not some-one, like Warren Ryan, Steve Folkes, Nathan Brown, Wally Lewis, Darren Lockyer, Stacey Jones, if you don't ask, you will never know.
