Who do we offload?

Remember the player(s) must want to move on and someone who actually wants them.

If no-one wants McQueen he has to stay and get his money.

It will be one or two of the following.

Masters.
Liddle.
Twal.

Everyone else is on overs.

Unless we go down the path of paying half contracts to players as an incentive for the other club to take them.

Think about who Parramatta lost when it struck them, Melbourne as well.

It’s unfortunately going to be someone or a couple of players that can obtain a higher deal from moving clubs and are attractive to another club.

Yes we have money but you forget we need to recruit 2 more players to fill out our squad with a minimum of $140,000 ($80k each)

This means with the fine included we need at least $779,000 available.

No way should we get rid of Twal. He's the 3rd player I'd pick in our run on side.

I agree this is where clubs will scope us out like vultures trying to get a good deal. You watch Parramatta make a play for Twal and Liddle..

Ideally One of Packer,Reynolds, McQueen, rochow or Nofo would be best to go. Can't see it happening.

This actually could work out to our benefit. Maguire is obviously going to make changes in the next couple of years. This might give him the chance to expedite the process.

We really need to get rid of some of our 2nd rowers. We have too many of them.

Farah and Marshall can choose to retire and forgo their contract.

Once retired we can offer them a role at the club like Slater, Lewis, Thurston and others have taken up this year.

Or do a different set of rules apply?

Please explain to me why Sharks clearly do something wrong and have been in trouble for a few years now get a 800k fine but…. Tigers make an arrangement with a player after his playing career and we get fined 750k PLUS 690K off our salary cap this year PLUS lose our CEO... This does not makes sense to me at all..
Also if robbie keeps the job for lets say 10 years do we have to have him in our CAP for this period? Do Roosters have Mini in their cap? Of course they dont?/?
I just don't understand how this is in the Salary cap for a person not even playing and retired... SOmeone help explain this to me

This is making my blood boil....

Pretty sure when Minicello became an Ambassador for the game, NRL fitted the bill for him so Chooks didn't pay a cent.

The point is that until Farah retires he aint getting a cent of that money promised to him .. i just can't for the life understand how the NRL say this must be part of his salary now .. ?? and therefore part of our salary cap .. ??

We need to buy 2 players with $60k.
Which means we will need to sell another player to free up money.
We need to offload a mid range player at least in order to buy 3 minimum salary squad players of 80k each.
The maths says we will need to make a call on at least one player.

If Pascoe isn’t acquitted I will literally stop watching rugby league.

This comp is corrupt.

I have no idea how we would be singled out like this.

We all know some of the other clubs would have a whole heap of deals happening outside the cap.

It’s just pathetic.

Such a ridiculous situation we are in atm. Still struggling to understand how we have put ourselves in this position. I know other teams have their challenges but some strong, rich and corrupt clubs must be having a good laugh at us. If we are being made an example of and the supposed strong stance Greenberg is now displaying, then some clubs must be pretty worried or shredding documents and destroying hard drives as we speak.

I’m not overtly a Robbie fan, nor am I a detractor. He’s been a champion player for us but has also overplayed his hand on occasion. I believe his biggest problem is he makes it about himself and he’s done it again. A man has had his livelihood and reputation destroyed and Robbie is quoted as saying he’s upset and now doesn’t feel like playing. Cmon Robbie, think mate. It’s not about you.

Farah - and also tell him he can shove his ambassador role as he walks out the door.

Harsh but fair. If the NRL are including all of this in Farahs contract, then by extension, Farah leaving should solve the problem.

Why is it Farah fault if our incompetent CEO doesn’t know the rules.

The whole thing is about Robbie so of course he's entitled to speak about it. IDC how petulant he behaved 2 or 3 years ago, the guy has been humiliated enough. Greenberg publicly implicated him in all this and people think he shouldn't have his say.
I actually didn't want him to say anything just yet but I'm glad he did. Whether you like him or not, it shows great leadership.

When isn’t it? The poor guy, drama just follows him. Must be a coincidence 🤔

Is it just me or did the NRL race their verdict through yet with other clubs it takes a very long time. Manly for example
