You need guys , who’ve played with and against modern tactics . Plus it immediately stops players making excuses like “what would you know” .

Sneens as head coach for 2 years. Bring back Payton with Robbie (forwards) and Hodgson (backs) as assistants with potentially Benji as specialty halves coach. Let them develop the juniors and induct them into what it means to play for the WT means. The identity that has gone missing.

Nooo, that's not true.

Payton gets some things, but misses others. Payton would be an awesome forwards or defensive coach.
He gets structure (I don't know how, but he gets it). He gets how to work forwards.
He will fail at the Cows because he doesn't get the whole team position thing. Likewise Madge, gets centers gets attack, but does not get defense or what people should be working on.

I am thinking we need 50/50 Wests tigers players and outsiders.
Sironen, Payton or Farah as our defensive coach.
Pat Richards or Hodgson as a playmaker/tricks/attack coach.
We need someone external as the halves/spine coach. We don't get it, we never ever have.

If Cooper Cronk could be bought, for any money up to 1 million I would sign him immediately as head coach.
He gets spine, he gets structure and he gets why little things are done.

Payten should be an assistant coach at Penrith ...if anyone needs to be whiteanted it's Iv ...

Trent Barrett may mess up the Bulldogs, I suspect he is going to piss off some of the stars and trouble will start.
If the Cows don't make the finals or at least come 9th-10th Payten won't get a second season.

Cronk broke football apart and understands the game inside out.
A danger would be him overcoaching. You could perhaps use Sheens for 1 year (explaining it's one year and your back to head coach) to get the situation working. Sheens has transitioned players to coaches and he is invaluable as that as Coaching head (or whatever his current role is). Ofcourse you would need someone to up the physical intensity. I don't get why finding a Gym junkie or Physical trainer is so hard, or maybe why we can't get this right. Surely we could find someone (a few ex Storm would work with Cronk).

The football brain that Cronk has is irreplaceable. He knows more the Matty Johns or Sterlo or any of those really seasoned commentators. Heck he played and won a grand final as a non playing player. I would even offer an ownership stake to get him onboard.

I’m Pro Madge to a point , I want the guy to succeed , but seriously , he’s going to have to realise that not everyone is Anthony Seibold . And that bloke was found out in the end anyway . Demetriou hasn’t white anted the super coach. If Madge won’t allow himself to be helped , well you can lead a horse to water and all that .

Yep , any great leader has said have the right guys underneath who can interpret your orders and execute . Often even just interpreting your intent is enough , if information is lacking . He’s up the creek then . It’s a shame , because this is exactly how he was brought undone last time . Even to the point of hiring Collins . It doesn’t matter how smart you are , when you hire a bloke who everyone else is asking “huh?” , it really undermines your position .

Any role I have been in I have tried to surround myself with people who are better than I am, and promoted a culture of advancement for them and for myself. My biggest achievements in my career have been when other people that I have worked with move on to higher positions.

Sheens won’t be head coach. More likely a John Morris type will be the guy, with Sheens in a mentor type role. Sheens days as a head coach are over.
