Who's our Captain for 2018 ?

Lawrence should carry the C. There is a lot more to being the captain than inspiring the troops, these days a lot of it revolves around media obligations, referee management etc.

Given Lawrence's injury history, suggest that ET would be back-up/co captain, but there would also need to be other that make up the leadership group including the 2 above, Reynolds, Matulino, Nofa and Lovett.

Lovett?
Would bring a whole new meaning to the "Captain's Run".

Lawrence is past his use by date has poor hamstrings, concussion issues and not very effective on the field so not captain material. If he is still here next year should be in reggies

Taylor is a leader, Lawrence should be let go at seasons end hopefully we sign another backrower like big Nelson from the Storm

Lawrence is signed for next year so can't be 'let go'.

Co-captains Reynolds & ET. ET to speak to refs and media, Reynolds to inspire the team and come up with big plays.

Leadership group: Nofoaluma, Reynolds, Lawrence, ET, Matulino, McQueen, Eisenhuth, Brooks, Suli

He can play reggies or look around for another club.he is not what we need

No mate.

I think Reynolds will have enough on his plate without the (C)…people seem to think everything will fit together perfectly like a jigsaw...I expect quite a few teething problems with so many new players arriving...let him worry about running the team on the park as all 6's and 7's do.
Comparing him to Petero is just wrong too...I dont see the calmness & maturity in Reynolds that Petero displayed...I see it in Rowdy & ET

Of course it will be a slow process. Could take 6 to 8 weeks before they gel. Fingers crossed they win enough games to not be totally out of the hunt. Just as long as we smash the Dogs in round 1.

Rowdy for me. Even though he is not what Jadtiger needs.

It's what Wests Tigers need.

What i want is someone to be captain who is a "must" selection.Lawrence is not a "must" selection. Our 2nd row is the worst in the comp we need that to be improved Lawrence is a club stalwart but not a first grade backrow player

I want a captain who can motivate our boys on the field. This is one part of the game where we come last in the comp. Reynolds and ET for co-captains. Takes the pressure off both and would allow ET to stay the strong, reliable silent type and Reynolds to be the vocal point of the team.

I don't care who the new captain will tbh.
Co captains and leadership groups says it all for me. The game has changed to have just one person "in charge" on and off the field.

You know I thought when Woods took over from Farah that he was ideal. Local junior, SOO and Australian rep player, well respected by the playing group. "Loves" the club. I thought of him as a Wayne Pearce type of guy who would bleed for the club. How wrong was I.

Personally, I don't think that there is much difference in attitude between Moses, Woods and Tedesco tbh.

Why does it matter?
Next year will be a year of "we need time to gel" excuses until halfway through the season when we realise we're no hope of making the 8 then "we'll be better next year with another pre-season under our belts" calls will start to appear.
It doesn't matter what players we have bought for next year we have Brooks at 7, if Brooks was the Storms halfback they'd come 13th every year, he's hopeless!!!!!! One day someone in this club will realise this, my hope is that it's not too late like it was with Benji.

It's pretty sad that from the supposed fab 4 that Brooks was the lemon were stuck with .

The fact it wasn't announced last night makes you wonder if the new captain hasn't arrived yet. If it was going to be ET like we all assume, why wouldn't they announce it when he was awarded members player of the year. Seems like a good time.

Looking forward to a new captain. We could have Fred Flintstone as our captain next year n it would be an upgrade.

It will need to be a player that makes the team every week and with a large amount of depth its hard to single to many players out that will be picked 100% next year.
