They don't go forward as we have way too many of the same type. I have said for ages that you can have a Huth...you can have an ET...you can have a Syefarth...you can have a Twal...you can even have a a Chee Kam...

But you sure as hell can't have them all. That is way, way too many light weights / guys who do not bend the line. Guys who never wind up and run hard.

They are all crap and wouldn’t make the bench in most top 8 sides ...
Powder puffs

but....never mind..

Starts with brooks though...he’s the conductor or so he keeps telling us ..”it’s my team “

A team with a pack of white marshmellows who wouldn't make the bench of a top team..

These blokes have played footy all their lives mostly don't think conducting is the issue...

When we get into the opposition 20 Brooks stinks it up anyway

Maybe that’s why the pack has given up

Can’t even put up a toro or throw a spiral pass

He’s ?

We had 4 that right 4 tackles in the Pamfers 20 in 80 mins...

English please school teacher

Tackles in opposition 20 Wests Tigers 4
Pamfers 36

https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/match-centre/NRL20201606/stats

Tackles in the 30 ?

Brooks is done mate
The tribe has spoken ....let it/him go

Already said it fine numerous times

Was also 4..with 0 in the 2nd half..

clutching with stats ....

Isn't this about the forwards going forward..

They didn't..

but like usual it's layed on Brooks..

No
Anything goes in any thread these days

We can discuss that anywhere..

1st you said our powderpuff's wouldn't make a top team...then you said when we get in the opposition 20 Brooks stuff it up anyway..I pointed out we didn't even get there to stuff it up..

We barely made it out of our own half in the 2nd half and not once into the 20..that has nothing to do with stats that's what happened..

You would rather just bash Brooks than discuss any of that..which is fine..It is time for him to go I have no issue at all with that..it's not working and probably never will so best for both parties

There was a thread saying how great our future pack is going to be..we have one rookie coming who is a plodder apparently..Brooks being here or not is not going to change it.

S

Not just last nights game , every game when we’re in striking distance ..

OK every game..now what

Shop him around

Sure already said that what's best for both parties..

Who in the forward pack should we keep..?

At this stage ...
Luciano
Blore
Garner

Blore is 100% a keeper but at this stage he is a long way off a first grade backrower. He is a "highlights reel" player". Last night he came on, make a great run, two great offloads, two good hits and was completely gassed with the play running straight past him all in 5 minutes.

He’s coming off an 18 month lay off due to injury and isn’t match fit yet

One reason (of many) is the lack of decoy runners. You look at some teams and there are many decoys. We have one bloke, on his own, carting it up. Predictable and an easy target. That’s one reason.

One reason for what I hear you ask?
Well I just looked at the thread title before I posted 😜

not disagreeing cause i feel we run one out alot but nrl stats have us #1 for decoy runs, 100 clear of #2

Wow! Don’t know what I’m watching then. Not arguing with you but that stat has floored me.

Maybe the decoys arnt believable. Some fat kiwi ambling up to the marker doesn't really pose a threat.

Mate I try not to disrespect players but ‘some fat kiwi’ is classic! And deserved!

Because our club see's the "pack" as just prop forwards... We actually go alright in props, we are terrible across the "pack".

Against Penrith, you dont get beaten in the middle by Tamou and co, you get beaten by Fischer-Harris, Kikau and Yeo.

Against the Roosters Hargreaves is a beast but he isnt opening you up, he is condensing the middle and Cordner and Touponuia are making incisive runs for quick PTB and getting them rolling...

You can do this with all the Top teams, prop forwards arent tearing teams up, its the locks and backrowers who get access to smaller players because the props have demanded respect in the early hit-ups.

We dont play that way... we continue into the ruck for 4 hit-ups, where we have condensed the big bodies and get hammered for lack of vision. We play skinny in the middle. We pull their big bodies into the ruck and then stupidly run directly to them the whole set most times.

Twal, Aloai, and Mikalele, are actually a set of very respectable props. Twal at lock is a defensive move, but he isnt in the same ball park as locks at the top performing clubs, an outstanding prop though, he can hold his own with the top guys at 8 or 10.

Find a lock.... and then a half who can run our hookers once they read the ruck has condensed.

Well put.

Need to add at least 1 preferably two high quality props
Id Keep Musgrove, Aloiai, Twal. Mikaele, McIntyre
Everyone else is depth category and we just have to many

Not to add to the halves bashing, but if im a forward in a busted team. You bust your ass to get up the field and your half does a crap bomb, or kicks it dead time and time again.
Eventually your output is going to drop.. and im not just talking about one game.

I know exactly what you’re saying from experience. When you don’t have the troops it’s best to find the side line unless you are in their 30 and can put in a more chase able kick.
Let’s the lazy defenders reset

100%. It's a team sport and the halves have to be smarter than the ones we currently have. We played like busted asses against the Panthers but our kicking game was shocking. Never put their fullback under too much pressure and didn't try hard enough to find touch in order to take the pressure off. It wasn't hard to see the Panthers knew they could beat us in most aspects of the game, but the intensity of the forwards battle could have been eased by putting it into touch alot more and taking all the heat out. We didn't do that and our halves with all their experience should have known better.

To succinctly answer the question posed by this thread, because most of them are crap, would not get a start elsewhere and are not up to first grade standard.

Our forwards were totally outmatched by Taupau and Fonua-Blake. It was embarrassing. The tackle efficiency from Garner and Leilua was really bad. Some of the defence was embarrassing, esp. that Jake Trbojevic try.

**Stats:**
8. Aloiai: 41 minutes, 96m, 16 tackles @ 94%
10. Mikaele: 31 minutes, 20m, 15 tackles @ 100%
11. Garner: 80 minutes, 78m, 32 tackles @ 83%
12. Leilua: 80 minutes, 46m, 34 tackles @ 85%
13. Twal: 47 minutes, 88m, 23 tackles @ 96%
14. Eisenhuth: 48 minutes, 65m, 31 tackles @ 100%
15. Taylor: 32 minutes, 42m, 13 tackles @ 93%
17. McIntyre: 35 minutes, 65m, 15 tackles @ 88%

Not a single forward making 100m.

They do themselves no favours going one out constantly. The only one that bent the line tonight was Aloiai.

we did only have 28% of the ball tonight so of course the stats are going be down for the forwards. Not saying they were great but a wierd game to assess the stats

I think it's the hooker and halves that cause our forwards not to go forward and miss tackles..

Packer. Can’t be any worse than these guys and he hurt matterson.

I will go hoarse saying it, but play skinny, get murdered....

A hookers job is to get to the ptb, locate options* and serve them efficiently. Read, find a big man, or be called by a playmaker.

Hookers dont often have the time to assess defensive lines, and its not their job anyway. We play skinny because we dont communicate from an on field general standpoint.

Ask any team if they would prefer to defend big bodies in a 10m channel, or have their halves picking up runners 25 kegs heavier. Wests Tigers rarely stray from the first option.

Yet he was able to manage more metres than the starting Prop both back rowers who played 80min and every bench forward..

As well as making more and missing less tackles
