Will Benji stay or leave

can you add the option "who cares"…
couldnt give a rats where he ends up.

People will care when Marshall rings the CEO and says " Sorry , I've had a change of heart , I'm gonna play out the last two years because I can't get half as much money from rugby "

Nothing from what Tauber or Marshall says makes sense , he needs to be setting himself up for a life after football , not taking pay cuts

They are purposely putting pressure on the NRL and the Tigers to get what they want

When he finds he can't get the big bucks he will come crawling back to the Tigers

Still think that we haven't seen the last of Benji personally

What do you think

If its money he is after he is a dead set mug not seeing out the rest of his contract. No way in hell anyone else is paying him 750k a year except maybe Japanese rugby.

I still reckon its a big bluff that's backfired. Asking for a release was supposed to bring a tidal wave of a response along with more $$$$$ from WT and NRL. Instead he is being shown his true worth.

It's possible, just possible he will eat some humble pie and see out his contract. Only if he kicks tauber to touch.

I think he will go to Union for sure. Seems like he is burning bridges here.
And I'd say Waratahs because he would have too many Sydney based commitments to go to Auckland or Japan.

Anything option could be wherever Moltzen goes….

I also think there is a twist in this and he might end up staying…

He doesn't want to leave Sydney and the Waratahs can't pay him the cash he is asking for the only way that will work is if he play Rugby in Japan as well ...

But it's been stated it's not about the money. As far as Grant Mayer is concerned, he's been told it's not about the money, so this whole scenario makes no sense what so ever. He hasn't signed on anywhere else, at this stage, his alternative career path is zero.

I guess there's a chance that the NRL will come to the party and he'll end up staying, but it's a big gamble and quite frankly, I don't think the extra money his manager hopes to get will negate the damage that's been done to Benji's name and reputation.

I am a big Benji fan, and im gutted that he is leaving..

But honestly, i dont care anymore.. Its done and its starting to make this forum look like a circus…. The forum is covered in Benji threads with some good ones and alot of crap that we just dont care about anymore..

Let get back to talking Tigers, winning and move on...

He is now past the point where he can return to the Tigers, maybe the NRL can broker a deal with the Tigers that allows them to release him to another NRL club, but that would be a long shot. I really think its Rugby or nothing. The whole thing is crazy, a few years out from retirement and you walk away from a couple of million and great prospects after football to test yourself at rugby and significantly reduce your earning capacity after football. I dont want Benji at the Tigers for four years but would love him for another two

No other NRL team will pay him the coin we offered him. This guy has screwed his own value and I'm not only talking about on the field off the field and post playing.what an absolute stupid buisness person. The millions will disappear without an income after footy. Better find a job Benji :brick:

To the intelligent 13 who say that they don't care , think about this scenario

Tomorrow the expected signings of Moses ,Brooks and Simona are verified for multi year contracts

Then in two weeks times Marshall decides to see out the final two seasons of his contract

Then we are over the salary cap by a motza

I'd say the care factor my get stepped up then

Oh by the way , if I'd wanted a who cares option I would of added it myself thanks

Don't need any help with my threads
