World cup

Pat Richards was the only stand out for the Irish. His kick offs were awesome.

Farah did nothing. I'd have DCE on the bench over Farah leading into the finals.

Isn't Ben Cummins one of our leading refs? I swear he refereed the GF with Hayne.

Hayne was in the box for the England v Fiji game and made the horrendous call on the first no try

Cummins was about to rule a scrum on another try until the footage was shown , and it was blatantly obvious he was watching the big screen to see whether the English wingers foot hit the line or not

To give you an idea how bad the refereeing was Petero Civonaceva went to the ref and said "when are you going to stop penalizing us off the park "

I've never seen or heard Petero say anything like that ever before

You cant have a tournament where the host nation isnt given every chance to play in the Final…

That path is to play NZ in the Semi's!

And that was the way the game was reffed ,especially in the 2nd half

I was watching the Australia v Ireland game this morning and i couldn't believe how crap the Ref was i mean he was pathetic.
Every time Ireland where on the front foot he penalised them,Ireland couldn't get out of there own half they where penalised so hard (The penalty count at full-time was AUS 12-3 IRE and the the tackle count was AUS 172-263 IRE) Australia should of been up by 40 by half time but the Irish stuck strong and where really good in defence ( For their standards+They where versing The second best team in the World cup). This World cup has been the best ever but as always the ref's have still found a way to ruin it. P.s Go the Minnows and NZ Lets hope AUS choke like the last world cup (I am Australian and have seen Australia win 90% of every game i have watched them play. and that is why i don't go for them)

I thought Koroibete had a real good game overnight.
Played an excellent game defensively, not getting sucked in field when 2 on 1s were developing but slowly sliding across holding up the play long enough for his inside man to cover.
Made a couple of nice runs from the very limited chances he had and no handling errors in all his touches.
This World Cup may be a big step forward in his career development.

i think your tackle count stats were not from FT. from memory ireland broke 300 and aus at about 216 or something

not all the ref's fualt though, many were very deserved. its what happens when you are outmuscled. also, their ball handling comingout of their half was abysmal at best.

I thought Robbie played very pedestrian, and will probably lose his 14 jumper to DCE.

Hopefully Sheens and his merry managers select our Top Squad from now on!

This is great to hear. I hope all our young blokes playing @ the WC really learn & develop a lot from this experience.

DCE is a dead set champion.

as for cronk, if it wasnt for his combo with smith and slater- i dont think he'd be anywhere near the rep scene. he is a hard working dude but lacks creativity and vision of a half.

his kicking game is amazingly accurate. he's not the most creative youre right, but i doubt that would have stopped him earning rep honours at most clubs.

He was better defensively , but there was at least twice when he didn't have a clue whether to stay back or come forward

And he didn't seem to hit the ball up with the same vigour he would for the Tigers

Yeah sorry i got the stats from Nine msn. Also your right it wasn't all the ref's fault the Irish made so many unforced errors espeacially Toole and where woeful in attack because of those errors.

They've been crap all tournament - it's been the only disappointment. Shayne Hayne looks like he's out getting Schlinders every night and then refereeing the next day. It's the only way you could explain some of the decisions.

Only watched the first 20 minutes of the Italy Tonga game but Teddy had missed a couple of tackles already

He played really well in attack.

In defence all of Italy's outside backs really struggled to contain Tongans big men.

I would have given him the benefit of the doubt on that held up call, but I am probably a little biased…
