The news that all Bulldogs fans had been fearing has been confirmed. Forward stars and Australian representatives Willie Mason and Mark O'Meley will be sidelined for a combined 24 weeks for injuries sustained in the Kangaroos 36-24 win of the USA Tomahawks in Philadelphia on Wednesday morning ........................................................

Apparently tickets were already booked for USA to go home after the group stages and they ended up topping their pool.

Yossarian, don't you mean Roos vs USA?

Well there's that but we've still got a pool game against the Irish right?

Interesting tidbit, USA led Australia in 2004, 24-6 (from memory) at half time. Aus obviously won in the end comfortably by a couple of tries. But i was amazed upon hearing it..

Yeah I think we won 36-24 or something like that. I want to say it was in Philadelphia but that could be wrong. Somewhere East Coastish. It was on Foxtel from memory.

There you go, my memory isn't so bad afterall…

Well, the Cook Islands now, a close contender to worse bomb try ever

That was a shame man….The Cookers were playing well and would have won if he didnt drop that. Agree though that it was a world class clanger.

Only watched the game sporadically...**who was the Cook Islands 5/8th?** He threw some great balls out there.

Pretty sure it was Isaac John from Penrith.

Well, the US played another good game, some good defence but clearly ran out of juice, 3 games in 9 days.

56-10 NZ against PNG.

SBW scored a hatrick. gonna see the replay this arvo.. NRL.com gave him a 10/10 performance- never seen that before

yeah SBW was good, but he nearly bombed a try in similar fashion to the Samoan game, fortunately for him he managed to get the ball down first

Does anyone give the Fijians a rough chance of beating England ??

I would have if it was the first round but England have got into rhythm now. I rekon they'll win something like 30-16

Poms have been kept in the game by an inept refereeing performance by Cummins and the video ref

How England got a penalty from the Fijians first no try was absolutely diabolical What about the knock on before hand by Tomkins

I'm glad someone noticed. It was terrible refereeing for the whole game, almost all to Fijis detriment.

If you thought the penalty after the non try was bad, what about England's first try, where Cummins penalized the Fijians for tackling the guy in the air, even though England was in attack? The Fijian players were rightly blowing up and I heard Cummins say "that's not how I nderstand the rule" or something like that. How can he be a referee and not know the rules of the frcken sport?

Towards the end of the game he lost the respect of the players altogether.

Kangaroos start off a bit wobbly again but getting their act together now. Robbie on start of 2nd half 26-0 to us
