Worst Player To Play NRL

Jackson Kaufusi hands down. Serisouly some of you guys who are rating Adam Blair and/or Daniel Fitzhenry (as one of the worst) either weren't around during the 2001-2003 era or have repressed their memories. Blair may have been a massive letdown based on expectations but he was going at immortal level compared to some of the jobbers who filled out our lineup in those grim times.

Nick Graham is a great call, Ryan O'Hara is not far behind either.

What about some of the guys that played for Balmain in the late 1990's? We continually came near the bottom of the ladder so there must be a few from there…Michael Gillett, Laloa Milford...

Team that played Bears on April 10 1999 (I think year is correct)

Joel Cain
Chris Morcombe
John Carlaw
Jason Webber
Craig Hancock
Ben Duckworth
Michael Gillette
Shane Walker
Darren Senter
JAson Lowrie
Tyran Smith
Mark O'Neill
Adam Nable

Adam Starr
Solomon Haumono
Brad Smith
Justin Yeo

You should see the talent in the First Division Team for that year!!

I was going to touch on that era Tigersmurf but didn't since it was pre-NRL but you're right. They were some tough times. And the list above was probably one of the better lineups - closer to mid 90s was even worse. I seem to recall losing 10 or 12 in a row one year.

Nick Graham wins my vote.

Jason Cayless and Ryan O'Hara were both shadows of their former self when we signed them.

John Morris seemed to lose us a lot of games but don't think he was technically the worst.

Daine Laurie? Remember the dropped ball on the way to the try line?

Smurf, due reverence please.
Balmain won 8 games with that cracker jack looking squad in 1999.
Meanwhile, the Magpies claimed only a couple of victories to easily claim yet another wooden spoon …

There's average mate, and then there's AVERAGE !

Whoops ! My mistake we actually won 3 games in 1999, I forgot the win over Balmain at Campbelltown …

3 players from that Magpies squad went on to win premierships in their career. Skandalis, Hodgson and Shane Perry.

Shannon McDonnell.
Apparently very quick but could never break the line.
Dropped the ball every time he got tackled too.

Yeah I just looked up the team and they had a good front row … Skandallis, Mescia and Harvey Howard ... And Hodgson and Kevy McGuiness in the backs ... But nothing in the halves, the backrow, or off the bench. They were a very small side too ...

Sabre, given that summation he'd of been a sensation in rugby union.

Owen Craigie would be one of mine. Definitely not the worst, but for the talent he possessed really could have been anything.

So not the worst, but pretty disappointing I guess for the skills he had.

Didn't him and another former NRL player get charged with manslaughter for belting a bloke. Could have this totally wrong but I'm sure I read it here somewhere.

I don't think the other person with Field was a former NRL player, but yes one of the two struck a person, resulting in his death.
