Worst Signing in Wests Tigers History

This is a really multi-layered question.

Terry Lamb, I think, has to be on the list. They were grim years under his leadership, with some wild antics on & off the field during his stay. One of his signings should rate- Trent Runciman!

Adam Blair cost the club a bunch of players & was probably the catalyst to some lean years. But....was he a BAD player? He just wasn't as good as advertised. It's not as if he played KOE.

Josh Reynolds might count- he really didn't contribute that much. But when he DID play, I actually thought he was ok.

Russell Packer in the last couple of years- a KOE specialist on good money. But while Ivan was here? He was pretty good alongside Mataulino.

Mbye was paid way too much. But he always put in. He just wasn't what was advertised.

Matt Ballin was an awful signing given the circumstances. Had he been remotely fit, different story. But given he was signed to replace Farah & then couldn't get on the field...that's a bad look.

If not Ballin (or Packer for the majority of his time here), I'll add a left-field name, simply because he was signed to be something he never was. John Morris, might actually be the 'worst' signing when you think he was supposed to replace Scott Prince.

That was all Sheens stupidity,Morris came here as a hooker but Tim wasted years with a good team trying to turn him into something he would never be and never admitting he was wrong.

Not even close. He got us to 9th with Robbie sulking and Tim Simona throwing games. Luke Brooks dally M came under him.
Benji will go down as the worst.
No Madge or Sheens on his current run.

Madge had our team for 4 years and nothing.
Sheens had 3 years of watching us and nothing.

I agree Taylor was a total asswipe but he could coach.

Clearly the answer is Brooks, a decade + of pure shit output. The damage that signing caused trumps all the other flash in the pans combined. Anasta, McQueen, Packer, Rankin, Harris, Blair, Head, Cayless, Graham, Ohara, Beckett, Lolesi, Peachy, and 20 others doesnt even come close to the detriment Brooks as the steering wheel of the team caused over such a long period of time for the club.

Ballin , Matulino , BJ , Packer ,as players
Terry Lamb as coach
Lamb gets my vote.
If memory serves me correctly, when asked about his time as coach he replied, 'I never wanted to be there anyway' or something along those lines.

Benji Marshall

Yes we won a comp

But we have been playing and coaching (now) “Benji football” since 2004 - and we have the worst finals appearances of any team since we began in 2000.

If he didn’t come - maybe we have a more disciplined, consistent, hard working culture.

We’ve been living in the past with him since he arrived.

If only I had the technological skills
Probably should spread the criteria to pick a winner for each year (do a poll) and then have a final vote from the winners list
I’d be 💯 certain that there would be no stand out bolter
And I think we could all agree that there is no need to do 2005
