dumb play regardless of what the outside backs said,

i think the turning point was mikaele trying to offload with 25 guys on him.

Need to run the plodder scale over him

Also I just reviewed the footage of the scrum feed to parra that led to the Mahoney try. The ball hit AJ on the back of the shoulder and travelled backwards a metre then Fergo lost it cold. Should have definitely been a Tigers feed. Even if the refs argue it came off AJs hands it still travelled backwards.

I think the frustrating thing from tonights game is that when we held the ball and dominated possession, we caused some real problems. Our big problem is defending mistakes and defending consistently across the course of the game. Defensive structure obviously needs an overhaul but defence is an attitude as well, and the players really need to have a good hard look at themselves there.

The soft TRIES through the guts of our middle..where terrible..

Defence is where the game was lost..

Yep, a fair dinkum side stops most of the Eels tries tonight.

Spot on.

Gotta cut out the simple mistakes. If you play the ball properly, not force the off-load when its not on, or kick early in the count then you're not having to defend sets on you're own line.

Having a few bigger bodies also help by stopping the quick ruck play

Dumb offload for sure, but I am so sure the ball hit their hookers hand and his Mikaele after the offload. Definitely looked like that first viewing.

Crap end to a crap season

I enjoyed most of it, mostly when our starting middle was off the field.

I enjoyed 10 minutes mate but they have been like this for months and now those flashes just make me more bitter. Happy it's over.

On a positive note if Blore can stay healthy will be a very good weapon off the bench next year.

Agreed. He'll be a hell of a lot better with a proper offseason under his belt.

Blore has been good in what he's shown but the issue with all our players is whether they can sustain it for the entire season or even in the 80. Our initial contact in attack is great and we are making metres but marker defence, cover defence and simple brains don't seem to work with the forwards.

Huth going better than Twal at the mo. Better at wrapping up ball runner, stopping offloads and has some sort of passing game. Keeper.

Young AJ continues to impress

The kid can play. Fast and powerful hopefully nails that left wing spot down next season. It’s a good looking back line just need to find a fullback and fix the forwards/defence

He's wasted on the wing. Bring him closer into the centres with Talau.

Mitchell Moses thinks they will be ready against the Storm???
Come on Storm will spank you based upon how you played tonight.....

Moses is a child, sook, whinger and a dog. He will get pasted by the adults.

So true. To quote Madge, we need to learn how to build pressure and maintain it. We can build it and then an error sees us marched back downfield. Usually resulting in points to our opposition.

If there is one positive out of last night it’s that Catterson will be watching from the sidelines. That was as deliberate of a crusher I’ve seen

To me the most frustrating thing was the offloads against us every time Paulo had the ball i was screaming at the tv to wrap the ball up the neighbors must've thought there was something kinky going on. As far as pressure I agree the boys seem to get behind and then think they have to score off every play to get back in the game leading to mistakes as opposed to keeping calm and building pressure I guess it's just the WT way. If you rewatch games from 2010, 2011 we were great at building pressure which led to teams breaking down

We are so close at times only to be let down by dumb errors and slow thinking. Too many mistakes when we are trying to hold or wrestle back momentum.
Talau, AJ and AD were all guilty of moving up out of the DLine or moving in to take players not theirs creating overlaps where there wasn’t one. It is obviously a trust issue or a lack of confidence in their own 1-1 tackling ability.
When you score 5 tries in a game there is no excuse to lose.

Yeah the offloads killed us last night. It gave them too many easy meters.

I didn't realise you can be penalised fro a shoulder charge when your shoulder doesn't even touch the player..
