Your better half!

Tigermama, when Tigers play Parra,I tell the boy to go to his room and watch it,especially if they are winning….

The lounge room is my space when Tiges are playing....
I don't need space invaders..ha ha ha ...

Lol… Purrrfect

My wife and her whole family were Balmain supporters. The older members of her family including her, have no interest anymore. The nieces and my kids all go for Wests, although my 6 year old is quickly becoming a Magpies fan, as they are the games we go and watch consistently.

I also admit than when I got married in 2008 that I wore WT boxers.

I have tried many times to convince my wife to come to a game OR watch the footy on TV, but she is just not interested. I would love it if we had the footy as a common interest.

She's a tigers fan. Her dads an old Wests man so she inherited that. Hardly a fan though and I doubt she could name more then 2 players. Luckily she doesn't like to go games and doesn't bother me when they're on tv.

My wife grew up in Vietnam, so had very little knowledge of sport before she met me. I've taught her my love of footy and cricket. While she likes sport, she still doesn't know how to cope when it all gets tight. She either gets very loud or just leaves the room.

She's been a WT member for the last couple years, once I got the family membership. She's never posted on this forum (to the best of my knowledge…).

Wish she would… It's lonely here all by my lonesome :frowning: ( craving another woman's point of view )

My wife's a Scot, she picked up the rules pretty quickly because she has a fair understanding of rugby yawnion.

She's got a good eye for the game… she doesn't watch it regularly but she can read the dynamic of a game, make some astute observations. Downside is not really following any team, she is dispassionate and not biased enough towards the Tigers. "You guys are in trouble here, they've got you backpedalling every set" is not always helpful to hear, even if true.

She knows the drill by now - no inane questions or small talk during the game. In fact nothing besides footy whilst the game is going. My newer rule is to try not yell so much, it frightens my kid sometimes.

I like the Scotts. Have a soft spot for them. My better half's mum is Scottish.

Unfortunately footy is not to everyone's liking Genoshan. Don't give up trying to persuade her. One day she might come round .

Thank you to everyone that posted on here so far. It was fun reading your posts. It's great to know a bit about each other and our families too, since we do spend alot of time on here.
Thanks guys … Gotta run, a 12 hour night shift awaits me :frowning:

The Tigers were playing the night I met my girlfriend so she is used to me being "distracted" by footy. She is a Tigers fan luckily enough (I even bought her a pink jersey) but as yet she hasn't been to a game with me so I do question her dedication!

As far as her reaction to me scanning this forum, well I can guarantee she'd find a million better things for me to do, especially now we have a bubba. Speaking of, I've been reading Tigers stuff to our baby girl since long before she even arrived (i.e. While she was still in mamma's belly) so I reckon I'll have better luck with her. Can't wait till she is old enough to bring to a game!

My girlfriend apparently supports the tigers as well :stuck_out_tongue: she won't watch much of a game on tv with me but is always keen to make a trip to a Sydney game - I think she likes the atmosphere and enjoys the tradition of a beer and a meat pie and that sort of thing at the footy with me and my mates.

Also, one of my friends went to Holy Cross and is mates with Sirro and Brooksy and has organised for us to meet them a couple of times which has been unreal. Her favourite players are Teddy and Sirro and when she got to meet them she was shaking with excitement and nerves it was the funniest thing ever to witness - instantly felt like I was dating some 12 year old Belieber

My wife's a Parra supporter .
She's been very quiet lately with the Parra / Tigers banter .

**She reckons were all nut jobs on this forum **
But from time to time she will steal my phone and have a laugh !

On our wedding day I wore Tigers Socks ( along with a suit of course ) . She didn't know until we had our photos taken and I lifted my trouser leg .

And she would be right

My girlfriend didn't know a thing about footy until we got together about 5 years ago. She came from a Balmain background cos of her dad, so she just liked the Tigers back then, but knew nothing about them.

These days she loves it. We've got season tickets and she even drives to all the games so I can have a few beers (only cos she hates the wine in the plastic cups)

I've trained her up on all the names and she can even pronounce Ava's last name. She now understands the rules and it's great when she works out what happened for me when I've had 6 beers and can't.

Talking of that Greatodensraven , how old was your childs debut at a WT's game

My son was 8 months when he saw Tigers lose a tight one in 2004 v Brisbane when we lost with a Pattycakes no try late in the game His first win was the following season in Rowdy's debut

My daughters first game was in 2009 v Titans when Tuiaki scored that 60 metre monster try

Her first win was when Mitch Brown scored with the Robbie chip in a nail biter in 2010

My wifey is a Wests Tigers member but not a forum member. She didn't really like any sports when we first met but of course that all changed.

I played grade cricket in Illawarra and she used to come and sit around all day watching me play. Then we'd all go back to the boozer for the night session.

I took her to a few Balmain games but I don't think she was instantly converted.

Roll the clock forward a life-time and 4 sons later and she is definitely a Wests Tigers convert. **Like all women, she will sit there making little comment but still happy when the Tigers are copping a flogging** while I probably would have stormed off disgusted into the night. How do they do it?

Still, she is my rock.

We still do everything together!
Well most everything, I draw the line when it comes to knitting classes.

You obviously never met my mum and sister  or the scores of other women at the games each week, who are very avid and vocal in supporting their team.

My wife doesn't support league, reckons they're a bunch of meatheads. To a large extent she is right but she's happy I support the Tigers all the same.

Willow, you must be talking about the other 15 teams in the NRL the great Wests Tigers are a very intelligent lot,or so it seems…..

My better half is a fan at the games - she gets up and screams when our boys make a break, and cheers when they run one in.

However…

When I get home and watch the game on Foxtel... completely different creature.

I'm a typical shouter at the TV and screamer when things go well, and I've been banished to the lounge to sleep on some of the larger Tigers wins, and larger losses - The most recent being the cowboys flogging our boys by 60.

She's a Novacastrian convert - loved the chief back in his time.

I was a Season Ticket Holder when the Mrs met me , So she became a Season Ticket Holder to spend some extra time with me but after a few years when she realized i was a Raven lunatic at the games , she said your on your own

UD,my missus deleted my taped Tigers games because I sat in the lounge room and went through the wins and losses on my days off,
Instead of mowing the lawns or doing the gardens, now I have to ask if I can get foxsports put back on during winter…..

You ought to see the yards and gardens, absolutely magnificent......
