Your Tigers side vs Knights

I disagree, Anasta has been training to be a backrower the ENTIRE offseason. It's extremely hard to just shift continually and there will be a degredation of performance, not knowing plays is a big one and generally being built for the back row. To contrast, miller is BUILT like a half back and has trained with benji and robbie in the offseason. I'd say we should keep anasta at 11 and keep miller there a bit longer. If he strikes out after 2-3rounds bring in Brooks. Cause, miller KNOWS that he screwed up, he knows he was quiet he said it in the interview. So, Potter will probably help him out and he will help himself out and hopefully have some more dominance in later rounds.

I'll also chuck in a big speech I made about this in another thread:

"I don't think the plan was EVER to bring in braith and miller and divide up the kicks evenly, 1/4 to benji, 1/4 to braith, 1/4 to anasta, 1/4 to miller. It was so that it takes SOME pressure off of benji and robbie. Obviously, miller needs to step his game up a bit and get a BIT more ball but i don't think anyone in the team or potter wants him to take complete control of kicking. It also takes pressure of people when playmakers are injured. Just look at what happened without farah last year, benji playing half, organising everything, kicking EVERYTHING while captain (i think). That's too much for him, he needs someone to give him some breathing space and that's exactly what miller and braith are there to do.

Brooks could quite possible be a lot better than miller, and i think he will be. But, potter has chosen miller for the time being to take that pressure of benji and robbie and just play consistently good. not amaazzinggg. Like robert lui, i looked up his price on dreamteam and he was 125k, same as miller despite playing some 40-50 nrl games. Lui wasn't bloody kicking half the kicks and setting up tries left right and centre, he just played consistently and helped partner benji really well.

So, give miller 4-5 weeks. See what happens, if he is AS quiet as on saturday or takes up a larger presence but starts making big errors. brooks in miller out, but if he plays a reasonable game week in week out, no worries! Brooksie is 18, his time will come."

I get what you are saying about not being built for a half but then again Trent Barret played a bit of half.

In terms on knowing the plays… how many plays have they got? I didnt see any plays really that Miller was involved with.

Its mostly Robbie to Benji.

I know that over simplifies it and there is a lot of training that goes into it i just think that it would be bloody awesome to have a dominant half in the team again and i cant see any of these young blokes being it.

Maybe in another team where the hooker isnt the captain and effective playmaker - in this environment a young half can get his hands on the ball more but look at the good halves in the game... they are touching the ball 3 times in a set.

Our half back is never going to do that until we get someone who will dominate the calls over Benji and Robbie and in this case Anasta is the only option we have.

I dont want to go through another season of giving all the other teams an 8 match advantage because we trial things for too long...

But i also should add that i am happy to give Miller a few games to prove himself…. i just havent seen anything so far that suggests to me that this will change in the next 3 games... if anything you need to give him a long time and are we as supporters going to suffer losses in the interim whilst he improves?

tigermate, Miller will need more than a few games. Otherwise it will be more of the same old story of the Robbie and Benji show.

It pained me to see how Robbie wanted to dominate the ruck, just like he has over Miller before, and looked like he actually didn't want Miller there??

Then Benji would say "my turn!" and push in to first receiver and want to run the show.

These two need to realise they can let go a bit more, allow Miller to get involved, and start to really choose their moment. Otherwise Miller will never get into the groove with the team.

We don't know whether it was instruction or senior players taking over, but either way Miller will need more than a few weeks.

Just like the rest of the team dynamics, I don't think we'll see the settled team or the outcome of the new coaching until the second half of the season. Anyway, I'd like to see

1\. Moltzen
2\. Koroibete
3\. Lawrence
4\. Ayshford
5\. Nofo
6\. Marshall
7\. Miller
8\. Woods
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Fulton
12\. Thomson
13\. Bell

14\. Anasta
15\. Buchanan
16\. Pettybourne
17\. BMM

Tedesco to get a little more game time in NSW cup, Utai back to NSW Cup, Reddy to play plenty of centre in NSW Cup (if he's good enough).

Start Game with

1\. Tedesco
2\. Koribete
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawerence
5\. Big T
6\. Marshall
7\. Miller (needs to improve his long kicking game)
8\. Buchanan (Woods if available)
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. BMM
12\. Anasta
13\. Blair

14\. Bell/Buchanan
15\. Pettybourne
16\. Fulton
17\. Moltzen

Finally got a chance to watch the game thanks to a replay. My side has changes.

1\. Tedesco - Fullback for sure, makes opportunities, backs up, runs hard!
2\. Koribete - Picked up where he left last season
3\. Ayshford - Looked better until knocked out but needs more game time for his confidence and defence!
4\. Lawerence - Seems pedestrian, not sure what to say!
5\. Moltzen - He is a good finisher and a good defender who will handle wing.
6\. Marshall - He is Benji take it or leave it. I will say this if NSW had him, QLD would not be dominating!
7\. Miller - Tried a few things but it will take time.
8\. Buchanan (Woods if available) Best option while Woods is out.
9\. Farah - Rusty and will improve greatly against the Knights.
10\. Galloway - Great effort our best player
11\. BMM - We need his mongrel
12\. Anasta - Will be great for us when fully fit.
13\. Blair - Benji to Blair, now we need to extend to Moltzen TRY!

14\. Bell - Not the best we have seen from him
15\. Pettybourne - Needs to TACKLE!
16\. Fulton - Not the greatest effort either
17\. Thompson - Deserves a start and brings utility bonus to the bench.

Overall from what I saw in the game, Tigers timing was off, Roosters defence was on! Too many times as we did last season we passed to a man in a poorer position. We did not respect possession enough which comes down to attitude. So Potter has some work to do!

Yeah, what you said about a young half can't have much impact in a side with hooker as playmaker/captain and benji makes sense. that's what i'm trying to say, that we dont NEED a half to have as much impact as cronk does. We need him to enable benji and robbie to do their stuff and take pressure off, give benji room things like that. lui got good raps here (comparatively) and he didn't do MUCH, like i said he's 130k on dreamteam. Even if we did have anasta at half, i reckon we would see like 1/3 plays from those 3 players, right now its like 45% from benji and robbie which is good cause they're the best we have. we dont want to spread it around too much unless those people can do it as good or better. i doubt anasta can, miller probably can't either, which is why he doesn't need to as a half in the tigers.

Also, no idea about how many plays they got. Probably isn't tooo hard to shift players around i guess, sheensie did it without ABSOLUTE catastrophe (came 10th sure, but it's not like we just fell into pieces and lost every game by 20). They train pretty hard, so 1-2hrs a day with plays, 1-2weeks should be enough i guess.

i thought he said it was just bruising.
but players aren't the greatest when it comes to self diagnosis.

Lets be honest, the way he's been playing the last couple of years it may be a good thing he misses a few games gives us a chance to see what else we got as I don't think he will ever return to the great player he was which is a real shame.

Not sure of the technical name for it but his shoulder popped out & back in almost immediately.

Subluxation (I think)

I don't know what it's called, but I don't like the sound of it.

And I don't like the thought of Chris trying to carry an injury again this season!

From peronal experience, shoulder subluxations are quite likely to repeat and if they do surgery is required to tighten the shoulder ligaments.

He said it should be sweet during a interview in the second half.

Wonder which coach he got that from ?? When I see him @ 7.00Pm Monday the 11th of March in a jersey on the field I'll believe it
(Gee I''ve become a pessimistic so and so ,bloody Sheens)

Have a Maori mate who used to pop his in and out just rolling over in his sleep until he had surgery on it
