It was more in response to him stating that he expected "having 5 rotating captains", as I don't expect at least a couple of them to captain the side unless there is a huge injury toll.

I didn't believe the rumour as the person who told me on Sunday is not even attached to the Tigers but another nrl club so wonder how they would know if it is true.

Im a bit over the fan base buying into the media spin about the club. The media has us in their cross hairs and tee off on every occasion.
We need to stop reacting to every negative story, clicking the links, engaging on social media and bagging out the club. Unless of course it is fair and deserved. Which in MOST instances it is not.
Its a leadership group.
If available Doueihi would be our captain, he isnt so we have this situation of a leadership group. It doesnt meam we have 5 game day captains. Its simply an adknowlendgement to the senior players in the side whose job it is to provide leadership. Be that on the field or off it.
No way i make this call if im Maguire because he has opneded himself up to more criticism. Last thing he needs however it is what it is. Ebbs and flows and all.

Does it say game day captains or club captains. Different things. THey are looking for these lads to lead the way. Some of these guys may never actually captain this club on the field. This group is who we will call on if needed. As i said club captain is Adam Doueihi.
Ill worry when they actually take turns like most here think. Until then its a non issue.

Every single person in this group has at one stage of their lives been a Luke Brooks fan.
Never forget that.
Souths had 5 captains in 2012 (ish) Went close in 12/13, Won the comp in 14...
So yes it has worked, Or no it hasn't - Depending on who you ask.
(Please note, Tigers have named a "Leadership Group" The same thing every club has had / done every year)

Or if you apply common sense its just poorly worded.
Nothing new from this club.
People do however assume captaincy means game day. Im not sure this statement is saying game day.

I support a leadership group. You can’t name AD as captain cos he’s out half the season. You can’t name anyone else cos no one else is guaranteed a spot in first grade. Smart move.
