Wests Tigers announce leadership group for 2022

Under Voldamort 2018

Benji Marshall (4) Chris Lawrence (7) Elijah Taylor (6) Russel Packer (5) Josh Reynolds (1) all captained the side at different times through the year.. not all in each game..
Crazy how fast a roster changes 4 years later none are playing in the nrl anymore.

As mentioned previously we had no clear cut choice so a group of leaders makes sense. Communication often looks lacking at the Tigers so hopefully there might be more voices on field. Surprised at Kennie but if their teammates have chosen than that’s great!

For me I think this is a the best option for this year until Api and Paps arrive.
Clearly James Tamau is not worth been a captain as he only plays like 20-25mins a game plus he hides on the field and show no leadership on it.
Adam D is not even playing until mid year so makes sense not to give directly to him.
Brooks is the half and maybe he needs this to help him perform and come out of his shell.
Peach and Ken must be liked by the playing group to make it into the 5 so have no problems with them.. I thought Twal would of been there but.....

So I think its a smart idea short term until we have a better squad and a clear leader comes through.
The media make out like we are the first team to do this and I'm pretty Sure the Panthers did this not so long ago.. We are not a big club with NO salary cap and have ample Rep players to choose from like Souths/ Roosters etc..

The five players, who were appointed to the leadership group by their teammates, will share the captaincy duties throughout the 2022 NRL season.

Lets see what happens once AD comes back

Lots missing this bit for some reason...selective reading?
It's how you interpret it, just like, say the traitor's statement back in 2018 that for mine screamed his tenure was over.

Happy to be proven wrong, but it doesn't read that they will all captain the team to me, nor that another not named may not.

It’s got nothing to do with interpretation….
Why are so many of you trying to argue against what is written in black and white?
Yes it’s a leadership group, but more importantly, THEY WILL SHARE CAPTAINCY DUTIES.
My god, this is not a difficult concept to grasp is it?

Can't fathom how people think that giving Brooks any semblance of a leadership role is beneficial to his game. He has shown time and time and time and time again that he is not a leader. Baffled by inclusion in this group TBH, it screams more of including him so he doesn't feel left out than anything positive moving forward.

All in the one game..?.doubt it..

Captains for a game will come from this group..

Obviously not, but the chopping and changing will get tiresome not just for us but the playing group.
It seems the club were too scared to hurt feelings by naming one general to lead the club this year.

I'm sure it will be Doueihi upon his return.. taking the role..
