Wests Tigers announce leadership group for 2022

It’s got nothing to do with interpretation….
Why are so many of you trying to argue against what is written in black and white?
Yes it’s a leadership group, but more importantly, THEY WILL SHARE CAPTAINCY DUTIES.
My god, this is not a difficult concept to grasp is it?

Is this upsetting you? You seem upset.

I have never heard of teammates choosing their captain/s. Doesn't the coaching staff usually choose? Did they just do a poll and 5 people tied for 1st? Was it a 3,2,1 system?

Disappointed for Twal, maybe he's not interested in leadership, or maybe his teammates don't see him as a leader. I was really hoping he could be the Finucane/Jackson type leader for us. Not being one of the 5 options at this stage of his career effectively means he won't be a captain IMO.

Kenny and Peachy are big surprises. No offense to either of them but them having a (C) really diminishes what it means to be the captain of this club. Tamou did nothing for us last year but his CV was too good to ignore whereas Ken and Peach don't have the same CV. Brooks and Douehi I can understand as they are almost WT through and through (minus Douehis Rabbitohs stint)

It all just seems like a joke. Sort of like "we don't know where we are going, we don't have any good answers but let's keep all our options and maybe we will stumble on to something".

Really surprised by the whole thing.

Yep it is a weak decision.
Well said.

I reckon if Doeuihi wasn’t injured he would have just been named as the Captain but because of his injury they went the 5 leadership group route, yes he’s got things to work on but he’s well loved by the fans and the boys by the sound of it and an actual Tiger junior he seemed to be the most logical candidate but obviously he can’t be Captain from the sideline

Crazy how fast a roster changes 4 years later none are playing in the nrl anymore.
Just shows how good Cleary was for this club. Still hate seeing his face on TV. I have to change the channel when the ads come on for the vomit fest that is the Grand final replay that the panthers watch on Fox

I’m my opinion the club and Madge is in a no win situation here with Douehi’s injury and the choice for captain. I think if fit he was the obvious choice to captain the team and when he comes back from injury I think he steps straight into the role.

Now he is out injured Madge needed an interim solution until Douehi is back, so what were his choices?

Sticking with Tamou would have seen him roasted and picking an interim captain until Douehi’s return creates instability.

The leadership group (which has Douehi front and centre in the photo) is a chance to have leadership until our long term captain returns.

shit gig to be a captain at the tigers last couple of years, while I’m always hoping the team goes well, i think there are going to a few tough post game interviews

the club brought in some mind guru,Dan Haesler.Roy Masters from the SMH speaks some wise words on club captaincy n leadership that may put some minds at ease

Cool we now have known leaders, lets see if they actually step up and lead this team how it should be.

Tamou needs to stop talking that he wants to lead and just actually play like a leader. His Defensive efforts are solid his work rate and meters are terrible for a prop.

Big Ken, be aggresive and go hard at the high balls. Run hard and straight - make 150-200mtrs a game we need you!!! Get Nofo to follow you and really get us going on the front foot.

Peach the unknown lets see how he goes, has the experience and can give us something special if he plays to his potential

AD just cement a spot and your game will lead, hang onto your man in defense and keep the legs going.

Brooks just lead the team, drive what you see infront and run the ball. Take the attack onto the front foot. Play to your strengths and stop trying to be a complete half following a very very structured game plan.

Boys your all captains = you have a voice and what you do matters than when you aren't so really lead from the front and set the expectations for the others to follow.

The worry for me is Mighty Tiger just spoke more sense than Tamou when questioned on the same subject.
