That said, He still had players like Teddy, Tupouiniua, Morris, Liu, Tupou, Butcher Boys, Taukaiaho, Radley was there or there abouts, Chrichton, Walker....

We just don't have ANY players really of that calibre....

One of them in Tamou stepped up in that role for a change on Friday and WT will need that every weekend to have any chance.

On Maguire, still wish that the change had been made for 21 and failing that, this off-season passed, but it wasn't. That said, WT are nearly 8 points better on average defensively thus far and there are a few differences in attack, even if not producing points as yet, but still lacking an outside back with real pace to convert the opportunities created.

Also, between injuries and suspension, there is no club worse off than us and the not going to the bunker choice really put the boot in to an already struggling unit.

A better coach would get more out of this roster. Ivan Cleary had a worse roster and had them playing better than this for a while there before he decided to bugger off

Time to rip off the band aid and get it done. You don't need a replacement ready to walk straight into the job, Madge has to go.

Just a thought, if Cleary goes on to win 5 premierships with Penrith, people will start comparing him to Bennett, Bellamy etc. But the failure he had with us won't be forgotten, same as Sheen's failure with Cowboys. Every coach has an * ( for eg Bellamy's * with the salary cap), I'm glad to say we would have contributed to that * for Cleary. Suck on that, Ivan.

I like Madge as a person, he is more honest and upfront than Cleary BUT i have to agree with most, he is not working out for us.
I dont like seeing any decent human being losing their job but this is a results driven business and we arent getting the outcomes we want/need.

To be fair and as much as I hate Cleary, with the amount of wins the team had in 2018, in most seasons that would have been enough points for a top 8 spot.

On Madge, I like him as a person and I think he doesn’t have the roster to compete but but the team has been going backwards. The approach that Madge has been taking is clearly not working and we need a change. It sounds horrible but as many have said it’s a results driven business and we can’t keep expecting better results with the same coach.

I think the team needs an innovative and creative coach. It’s why Sheens had success (albeit limited success) at the club. He was creative in his approach, played to the strengths of the team and thought outside the box. For all of Madge’s success at Souths and Wigan, he had a gift-wrapped roster.

Kyle plays good with his dad. Kyle was good depth when he was at sharks with his dad.

I've said the story a few times but was at a game at lidcome reserves sharks v wests. Flanno was there and the calls and hand signals between Kyle and flanno was amazing. Sharks won. Kyle played a real tough controlled game that day to get sharks the win.

AND thats the difference,"he had a gift wrapped roster" at Souths and Wigan....Here he has to purchase,develop,oversea the mix of experience and youth...As most can see its hard work for both club and fans,however,if most can see what Madge is trying to do with this squad and the pathways,the future will be much better...HELL I throw the footy jersey in the corner and jump on it after the losses,BUT I dont give up on Madge,Team and Club....ITS CALLED STICKING....If people arent happy and want the club to fold,relocate,sack coaches and team when things go bad or get tough,then maybe they need another sport to follow because every club goes through tough times,our time is tougher because we are a joint venture that has had bad admin,coaches,players and Ceos...
Things will get better....old saying is "things get worse before they get better"...and we have been through worse than this,everybody said this year was going to be tough and 23 will be better....lets stick to what we said.....

Ivan is successful at Penrith because he has a great squad. Ivan was not successful at West Tigers because he didnt have a great squad. Assembling a good squad and keeping them is the key to success. A good coach is secondary after that.

Ivan’s teams have improved under him at three clubs. He can coach.

Squad is Key.

Parachute Bellemy into Tigers in 2022 and the results will be similar.

This is a culture problem at the Tigers that turns recruits to garbage and sees any player with promise jump at the chance to move on.

Yet another mid season coaching change would be a disaster.

I would never want the club to fold or relocate. I think if either happened I’d probably stop watching league all together.

I’m not entirely blaming Madge. I don’t think the roster is great and if anything I’d say I’m more critical of the CEO and board rather than the coach. But you can’t just bury your head in the sand and ignore results. Yes Ivan damaged our cap beyond belief but the current roster is pretty much what Madge has put together and In terms of results and ladder position the team has gone backwards every single year Madge has been coach.

To me that signals the team is regressing and issues need to be addressed. Just because I want the team to succeed and because I call out poor results and performance doesn’t mean I’m not a true supporter.

I’d say it’s probably best to sack both. Can you honestly say that sitting in last place is acceptable? What Madge has done over three years simply isn’t effective. This shouldn’t be the standard the club accepts.
