Leichhardt Oval to receive an upgrade?

These are new articles, this is info that has leaked from the meeting from PVL and the premier last Friday.

Hey Cochise, yeh it looked familiar, I think it's lazy reporting on something new.
They have been talking about doing things to LO since they changed the direction of the oval years ago, so I am in the mould of once bitten twice shy.
I think it will happen but I wonder if it's going to happen in my lifetime as time is running thin . 🙏

Justin Pascoe has said his preference is to return to a split between the suburban grounds but that may not be the boards preference.

can't post it but inner west council has released some plans of LO upgrade, it involves a new grandstand and parking and amenities to include the aquatic centre along with a museum and the ground open to the public during the week

I wish pascoe would realise that home ground advantage is REAL
eg brookvale oval last week .Not to worry next game is a home game against a QLD team in QLD !!!

Give back to the season ticket holders and fans and add another two home games instead of the 10 we currently get it needs to be 12, that woukd mean a LO 6 and CS 6

Even then they need to decide one one ground. New latchem sounds great.

Mate, just get a stack of port a loos, get them busy if you know what I mean and let them sit in the hot sun. Make that area the away fans seating area and see how we go. It will make Leichhardt really ferocious. Also charge the away fans a fortune for the seating and we can call it quaint.

The Tamworth game I reckon is a must keep. I’d be happy to play an away game at Magic round.
Though it might make it easy to do a 5-5 split at the suburbans next year should be our Easter home game so maybe 5-5, ANZ and Tamworth is in the works.

Whenever I go to the can, first rule is avoid eye contact with other people. But I must say seeing the look on supporters faces from other teams when they walk down the stairs into that toilet is hilarious

what do you do with campbletown though ?
problem at LO may be the council but it seems they are fixing parking and aquatic centre also so it may all get approved

as a season ticket holder (as we are not members) we pay a decent amount for reserved seats, as much as parramatta do and more than Penrith and souths and we play 2 games less (magic round and tamworth)

The Tamworth games give something back to another set of fans, whilst also providing a potential breeding ground for junior recruits

in theory that works just think it is better rewarding your Sydney fans. Might be different if every club does a geographical area or potentially give Tamworth some trial games or something

We’ll see, the Sydney fans have 10 games to get to every year and personally speaking I know of some that really only consider the Leichhardt games as home games for them and don’t travel to the others.
Realistically all three current locations are within reach of each other but all three are somewhat regionally divided in terms of attendance.
I could give up the Magic round game. Especially allowing for a Queensland team to have an extra ‘home’ game I don’t see the benefit. A team that has 12 games at their same home ground each year should have a Magic round game. But not the travelling nomads.

The club doesn’t get a choice with magic round… can’t really pin that on Pascoe.
