Not surprising, since the whole team has regressed heavily and Brooks has taken the brunt of the criticism for it. I am surprised the guy isn’t a basket case from the crap he’s copped. He has got to have pretty thick skin I would think.
Not excusing him at all, he has been poor. But so has just about every other player in the team. There’s obviously more to it since the rumblings started of Madge being sacked

He was only ever good for 10 games . Cleary got lucky
And everyone bags Madden even though he has had about a dozen NRL games,yet Luckey boy has had 10 years and big dollars...I gave him a big chance this year with Hastings in the side,but Madden has played better with JH than our big money 7 we have put up with for years.....
Cleary did something. Brooks all of a sudden became a good defender and led the team pretty well (still not well enough) but Brooks has had enough opportunity to prove that coaching is not to blame for his lack of consistency and quality. Cleary made huge and debilitating mistakes as our coach, probably as bad as Taylor in destroying future years, but Brooks played well under him.
