Wests Tigers Coaches

I wish people .....like you for instance Gnr....would stop putting stuff on here that they dont have any proof of just to suit their own beliefs.
Hey Magpies1963, what about your comment yesterday about the impact on players of whatever was injected or rubbed onto them? You have not addressed that comment!

100% agree. Big, aggressive, foul mouthed coaches are just that. Why should the players respond positively to such a coach? We need a coach who is a good communicator not a big bully.
Melb players do...obviously mate you havent watched Bellamy in the sheds or coaches box...and how many times have they been in the finals while Bellamy has been there...the record speaks for itself and his "bullish methods seem to work""his players respond well to his COMMUNICATION tactics...

I appreciate the effort you put into your questions…they are in line with the questioning I had in mind… i will summarise them and assure you will cover them in my chat to him….
Buddy, I appreciate @BAGNF05 questions too, but to me they sound like an inquisition and unduly hostile and the moment you start, he’s going to get very defensive and you will get nothing.

You really have to think about his position and his sensibilities.

He probably gets more than his fair share of criticism and if you go into battle, your views are sure to be acknowledged and discarded. It will be uncomfortable and destructive.

There’s no way he’s going to admit fault and/or throw his masters under the bus. There will be no statements from Justin of fault or remorse.

You have to start from the position that he’s competent and he has good intent. Earn his trust and build on that. Be constructive and upbeat.

Adopt some of the clubs positions first up and see what flows.

Those are my initial thoughts.

It’s a great opportunity to meet him and learn.

I’d like to know more about the club selection criteria for players if he could shed light on that process.

I care and I don't have to let it go.

Think what you like. Either way, his approach was rebuffed.

Do you support performance enhancing drugs being used on players to win? I'd imagine the answer is no. So why even suggest Flanagan. Are his "wins" not subject to classification?

Players were being injected with substances that they still don't know what they were, so I don't think it is dramatic to say he was placing the health of those players at risk.
I feel it's about time you caught up with today and stop living in the past.
Has it ever been proven that what Flanno is accused of giving the "players' was actually harmful?

Hey paws, how about your comment that people on here are hoping the new coach fails miserably? You ran away when asked to provide proof and are yet to address it but I won’t hold my breath

It would be great to really know what the problem is with this club/players....would it,matter who was coaching them, is it their attitude, and if so where did this attitude come from ! and why has it been allowed to progress to this stage- surely the problem isn't always the coach...and now it seems no coach is that keen coming to the Wests Tigers, why is that ?

I just have an awful lot of questions, and one is, why do the players that get picked for Test matches etc do well in the test match and so poorly with us (eg Nofa), I know they have better players around them so I guess that will be the answer to that question, but at the moment there are more questions than answers re what's happening at the WT's, and where to from here.
Its difficult to know what the problems are unless you're an insider. We can only speculate, but lets assume for a moment that the club had strong administration. The board were making sound decisions, had a vision shared by every single person in the organisation, along with the trust and respect of every member of the organisation. Each and every person knew their responsibilities and the regular tasks they performed and how it impacted on others. Would we still be asking the questions?
You're right about players performing better or lifting in a different or better team. There's also the other element which can give a team a lift, and that is the pride in the jersey. Apparently QLDers grow another leg by putting on the maroon jersey.
I'm very interested to see how those two recruits go next season after we sacked the coach who gave them a contract. One of them has already said he came for the money.

Nothing really new from Rothfield on BSB but will post it anyway.

“There’s two names I mentioned in the papers today, one is John Morris the assistant coach at the Cronulla Sharks, played 72 games at the Wests Tigers he’s got their DNA, 300 game player, made the top eight at Cronulla two years in a row,” Rothfield said
“Or there’s Shane Flanagan, I think at some stage we’ve got to judge Shane Flanagan on his coaching ability rather than the mistakes he’s made which has been harshly punished for.

“I’m sure those two will be among three or four people they do interview for the job, I think there’s a little bit of urgency about it because decisions have to be made about Luke Brooks and other players at the Wests Tigers.

“They’ve got to be planning right now for next year and the following year, the year after that, they’ve got to move quickly, but most importantly they’ve got to make the right decision.”

The following article makes for interesting reading....

Say whatever you like about the Tigers (and they do seem to get plenty wrong), they never got to the position the Panthers found themselves in.

For what its worth a mate I have who runs Pubs tells me that Arthur Laundy and Phil Gould aren't seeing eye to eye. Arthur was Balmain through and through....

Has it been shown that they were harmless? That's the point no one knows because it was hidden. It's not worth the risk and I wouldn't be placing a family member in his care

I can't remember tigeress when WT had a roster without holes in it.
Unless you have a good roster and win games you end up with bad attitudes, underperforming players, coaching issues, inadequate board, where do we stop.
The answer is our club right now.
If we had a good roster I doubt very much Madge would have got the chop.
I think it was too much for CC to take on WT because of our inability to attract top players.
Where do we go from here.
Well first off we can't get into cap problems again. This means not paying overs and develop our juniors. This we can do.
Secondly shore up our best players and hope we jag a couple of players once we land a new coach.
If all fails, put our head in the sand and hope it will all go away 🤔

I've posted the link to the story of the NSW Supreme Court. You can read how the substances are described in that article. Do you still maintain your view and also that "about time you caught up with today and stop living in the past".

It really doesn't matter what who or any player has said anymore from the past or the present.

What matters from now on is the players performances and attitude, Noddy has already shown that poor efforts and performances will not be tolerated and Sheens too has said this before. “There’s a lot of work to be done but at age 71, I’m not afraid of upsetting people.”
